trying new mexican dishes, i cam here specifically for the mole de olla. had some boring carnitas yesterday and was hoping for better here given all the positive reviews. staff was nice, but i was disappointed by the food. the carnitas were better than the ones i tried yesterday at a supposed carnitas place - but they still were pretty flavorless. is that simply a characteristic of them and yuo need the toppings to make them come to life? if so, what's the point vs. another meat? cochinita pibil on the other hand is amazingly flavorful slow cooked pork. the mole was just ok to me; i was hoping for a much more flavorful broth after reading about the dish, although it just seemed like some slightly oil beef stock with not much going on in it to me. i would describe it as unremarkable vegetable beef soup. would recommend other dishes. i do not understand all the raving in the reviews for the carnitas nor the...

I visited Wednesday evening and the restaurants’ prices, service and food were consistent with a Tourist trap kind of establishment. I tried their carnitas tacos and they were okay but nothing I couldn’t find back home in California. The salsas were just ok. My friend also tried carnitas and wasn’t surprised, the servers didn’t seem to care, the manager walked by and also didn’t seem to care, no greeting from anyone but the hostesses. Our server was clueless and the runner couldn’t get himself to smile for half a second. The prices are slightly higher than other places in the area. We had far better food and service as well as ambiance the night before in Garibaldi at a well known establishment there with slightly better prices. If you are native Mexican or a foreigner with higher than average Mexican food knowledge this will not...

I was super excited to try this place because of its decent reviews. But boy was I disappointed in so many ways. Please read on…

If you are someone visiting Mexico City, avoid this place. They tried to not give me my change for my bill until I insisted. It could not have been confused for a tip because the change was more than 30% of the total bill. They tried to rip me off because I was a tourist. First strike.

The carnitas(there house specialty) was super dry and lacked flavor — no matter how much lime or salsa or condiments I put on it. The guacamole was also very bland. Second strike.

There are too many wonderful places in CDMX to enjoy to suffer through this very over priced place. It was very expensive for what you get. Third strike.

So—-Avoid....

I thought the service was lacking. The waitress was getting annoyed because I didn't speak Spanish and wanted to know which types of Carnitas they had. She ignored us when we asked for a check so someone else had to help us. I tipped her still cause and she didn't say thanks. The buche and maciza were ok, too dry and not crunchy, maybe it's a regional thing but I feel like I've had better and more flavourful Carnitas in California for less. Salsas were mild, they should have crushed up tomatoes with water and called it a day. The atmosphere was cool and the portion were indeed huge, three would have been plenty. I just left a bit disappointed considering it's recommended by the locals.
