Another restaurant where I wish Google had half star ratings. This restaurant is really good. But not quite five stars so I gave it four. We came for dinner and ordered several things to try a bunch of stuff. The guacamole was very good. Not too spicy and there was a lot to eat. I wish they had brought more chips, but we ended up loading each chip with a ton of guacamole. Yum! The combination gorditas give you a variety to try, and you can order one taco or several. They come rolled, not like you’d expect. This is a great place to try typical Mexican food.

trying new mexican dishes, i cam here specifically for the mole de olla. had some boring carnitas yesterday and was hoping for better here given all the positive reviews. staff was nice, but i was disappointed by the food. the carnitas were better than the ones i tried yesterday at a supposed carnitas place - but they still were pretty flavorless. is that simply a characteristic of them and yuo need the toppings to make them come to life? if so, what's the point vs. another meat? cochinita pibil on the other hand is amazingly flavorful slow cooked pork. the mole was just ok to me; i was hoping for a much more flavorful broth after reading about the dish, although it just seemed like some slightly oil beef stock with not much going on in it to me. i would describe it as unremarkable vegetable beef soup. would recommend other dishes. i do not understand all the raving in the reviews for the carnitas nor the mole de olla.

I was super excited to try this place because of its decent reviews. But boy was I disappointed in so many ways. Please read on… If you are someone visiting Mexico City, avoid this place. They tried to not give me my change for my bill until I insisted. It could not have been confused for a tip because the change was more than 30% of the total bill. They tried to rip me off because I was a tourist. First strike. The carnitas(there house specialty) was super dry and lacked flavor — no matter how much lime or salsa or condiments I put on it. The guacamole was also very bland. Second strike. There are too many wonderful places in CDMX to enjoy to suffer through this very over priced place. It was very expensive for what you get. Third strike. So—-Avoid. Repeat, avoid.

Great service, clean location, English menu with fun Spanish pronunciation of menu items, OK food. Tortillas, carnitas and the grilled cheese were good. The guacamole was a bit off, like they didn't taste it after finishing it and let a bad avocado in. Salsas were OK, not amazing. I didn't like that the totopos for the guacamole were painted, they didn't taste like the real thing. The gorditas were dry and hard, probably their style but nothing like the real gorditas I've had.

Located close to the anthropology museum, this restaurant has to offer some traditional Mexican dishes. The settings is clean, and look like a busy and lively canteen during rush hours. Expect prices a bit on the high end but that's totally worth it. Pick whatever you feel like (the service staff is very reactive and keen to help while choosing!), There are no bad surprises! Minus: the fried pig skin (chicharron) is way too pricy! And the guacamole could be a bit more limey.
