The hotel courtyard and restaurant/bar is nice and well designed but I wouldn’t recommend actually staying here. My girlfriend and I had planned on staying here for 6 nights over New Years but left after one night and went to another hotel because it was so loud. They put us in a room on the 1st floor next to the restaurant and stairs so you could hear music blasting until 11pm and people coming and going on the stairs that vibrate in the room all night long. Also lots of people yelling in the courtyard late into the night. The rooms are also pretty cramped for 2 people and the beds aren’t very comfortable. The concrete rooms also feel cold and unwelcoming instead of designer-y. We asked nicely if we could switch to a quieter room but the guy at the front desk was pretty rude and unhelpful. We switched to Casa Decu and had a much better time during the rest of our stay in Mexico City.

A nice hotel with a bit of an identity crisis… it wants to be chic and luxurious, but a simple amenity such as fast and reliable wifi inside your room is overlooked. it wants to boost being an “urban refuge,” but it is difficult to find respite with a loud pool music on the weekends or minimal lounge chairs to enjoy the pool. You have guests that have booked a romantic or relaxing weekend getaway then you have the patrons who bought the day pass and just want to drink, be loud and party to make the most out of their money. As a thirty something old, I overall enjoyed my stay as it’s a prime location close to Reforma and Zona Rosa with very friendly staff. However, they really need to figure out what demographic they want to focus on.

2023 What happened? We have been staying here every year since 2015, but this year was a completely different experience…. We stayed in the balcony suite…. Towels with holes in, having to ask for toilet paper. Dirty plates and glasses left in the corridors for days. Staff that make you feel like an inconvenience and wish you weren’t there. No guest experience, just seems to be all about the money now. A real shame, but I doubt we will be back after so many years! 2021 Review This has become our go to hotel, whenever we arrive in Mexico City, now stayed here several times over the years. Always good service, food is excellent and the beds are incredibly comfortable.

Don't do it. Stay away! Online photos can be deceiving. I've worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years. I've owned my own business and having said that I'm very forgiving and understanding of the challenges involved... and trust me I hate spending my free time writing bad reviews of establishments.

My first day I went to eat breakfast. I made eye contact several times and after 20 mins I finally waived and a server brought me a check- someone else's. No big deal. I said I needed a menu to order and she left. Someone returned with a clipboard listing all of the guests names and room numbers in the hotel to make sure I was staying there. Massive privacy breach! I pointed to my room number and was questioned about the name, which was my wife's. I inquired as to if I could charge the meal to our room and was told yes with a nod.

Several minutes later a different server gave me a menu. I ordered (in Spanish) a breakfast sando & a glass of orange juice with vodka & ice. She looked at me as if I was an ET who just got beamed down from space and walked away with no explanation except she need to ask someone else who worked there.

Several mins go by. I get a glass of OJ (only) delivered. I ask about the drink and she claims that they cannot accommodate this request. I ask (in Spanish) if this is because they do not carry vodka at the bar or if it is due to the time of the day. She walks away. Nothing else.

Here we are, 45 mins + and a food runner finally delivers my plate. Decent sando (yawn), yet my arugula salad was sabotaged by what tasted like 2 oz of salt poured onto it. Inedible. No water service offered, or condiments.

I ate. I was watching similar discourse for 4 other tables. I was 1 of 9 ppl in the restaurant at the time. I finished. I waited. Still no check-in regarding my experience and at the very least no bill was presented. So, I left, walked down to the bar, and pointed to the Stoli bottle. I asked for an OJ, vodka and ice cocktail and again asked if I could charge it to our room. Yes was the answer.

I then went back up to the room for a jet-lagged nap, placing the DND sign on the outer door handle. About an hour into my sleep: KNOCK KNOCK. KNOCK KNOCK. KNOCK KNOCK. KNOCK KNOCK. KNOCK KNOCK.

I answered the door and it was one of the servers demanding I pay my bill. I mentioned we were there for a week (readily available information!) and would settle up at checkout. Nope. Had to pay right then and there. That was a first for me. Unheard of- until now.

Day 2: I went elsewhere for breakfast.

Day 3: I tried again, and sat for 15 mins totally being ignored. I left to eat elsewhere. At this point I was flagged for sure, but at this hotel it meant make their stay worse and don't try and fix it. Wow.

Fast forward to us trying to check out to catch our flight and the front desk clerks are telling us that someone has pooped in our bed and that we have to pay $60 USD extra for them to buy new sheets. I had taken a wash cloth the night before to wipe off some mud from my shoes, rinsed it & left it in our room with our daily tip for the housekeepers. I'm shocked we didn't get charged for shampoo and TP!

At one point I looked behind our bed and found 6 pairs of ear plugs, and 2 disposed Trojan condom wrappers- along with years of no one cleaning back there. There was also a rigged electrical plug which miraculously didn't start a fire- or has yet to.

Total failure, super insulting to my wife, we did nothing to deserve it and no one did anything to fix it. Just attempts to scam some...

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stay in a bunker with no windows to the outside the persistent smell of mold and the ability to hear noise from other rooms the lobby and the restaurant downstairs? Well then this is the hotel for you if you absolutely want no privacy or comfort then they are ready to help you out. The whole property is meant to reflect an Urban Chic feel. The large amount of concrete means that sound Echoes from every corner of the inner Courtyard onto which all rooms open. Hours had no outside windows so there was no way to air it out which resulted in a musty moldy smell. The AC was conveniently located behind the bed and when turned on the entire bed vibrated. At 6:00 in the morning you get to enjoy hearing the staff set up for breakfast. Because of the huge amount of concrete both Wi-Fi and cellular data reception are very limited. So at least you won't be disturbed while trying to work provided you don't need internet connectivity to do any work. As an added bonus the hotel has an event management team that organizes large private functions on weekends. Again since there is no sound insulation or any sort of sound dampening this Echoes all the way into your room so you can fully enjoy other people partying. Once the party is over you get to listen in on the cleanup efforts which will usually end around 2:00 a.m.

Long story short this is a great opportunity to gain insights on how not to run a hotel how not to design a hotel and how not to treat customers.

The staff are not malicious but rather seem depressedly resigned to their Fates as they can't really change any of the architectural choices that were made.

As an added bonus the hot water is intermittent and you never know how much of it there is. This makes showering and exciting game of roulette. With low ceilings and Furniture entirely made out of concrete the rooms exude the sort of coziness one would expect from a Detention Center or nuclear bunker.

The location and restaurant are okay though. Not great but okay.

Overall zero out of 10 would not recommend is ludicrously expensive for a place where you will find No Rest...

The hotel is not as advertised and the pictures are deceiving.||The one star is for the staff being nice and helpful. I think they’re doing the best they can with what they’ve got.|Zero stars for the hotel for the following reasons:|- This hotel is not a luxury hotel as the hotel website claims. The rooms and bathrooms need to be upgraded to match the description. The website photos are deceiving.|- The bathroom does not have an exhaust fan, but instead has a full height louvre window opening out to the hallway. Zero privacy.|- The plumbing fixtures in the bathroom are rusting and about to break. You can see pieces of rust coming out with the water.|- During our stay there was always a shortage in towels. Missing hand towels, wash cloths and shower mat. A couple of times we requested extra towels, but they didn’t have full sets available. Not sure how a hotel can run out of towels. Mind you there were only a few occupied rooms, and the hotel seemed empty. In addition, the bath towels are small, paper thin and not the cleanest.|- The bed had a bad smell. We couldn’t figure out what it was. Bed is also very uncomfortable.|- The air conditioning sounds like a train in the room.|- The WiFi was very intermittent.|- The room does not have a full length mirror. Only small mirror in the bathroom.|- We were on the 3rd floor, but could still hear the music from the lobby/bar area. Also noise from the street could be heard in the room. Very poor windows and sound insulation. The hotel provides ear plugs though. |- Room keys continued to not work and we had to keep returning to the front desk to reactivate them. The receptionist’s explanation was that it happens all the time, nothing unusual.|- They charged the credit card for the full length of the reservation at checkin, before seeing the room and instead of at checkout. Otherwise we would’ve for sure...
