Gorgeously Appointed and Gracious Service What a delightful, magical place... We went as a couple, expecting to stay for just a couple of days. We met the most wonderful guests from all over the world, and ended up staying several days longer. And Arleigh is the most engaging host you could hope to find, with the best staff imaginable. I know I'm gushing, but this place is a hidden gem that we can't wait to return to.

I enjoyed a wonderful stay here! It is perfectly located, just a few blocks from the heart of historic Morelia. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. I also really appreciated the rooftop kitchen, so I could make myself a snack or meal when I didn’t feel like going out. The owner is delightful, thoughtful, helpful, and kind, but never intrusive. Truly, I couldn’t have had a better experience!

Thank you to everyone at Casa Xola for an incredible experience. Very LGBT friendly and accepting. It is hard to park in Morelia but Casa Xola has its own safe parking for residents. Ideally located in the center of town. Great breakfast. Great rooms, amazing staff. Loved it.

I’ve stayed twice in Casa Xola — once in March, and again in June for about 5 days each time. It’s a beautiful, calm, leafy green paradise in heart of lovely Morelia and run by even more lovely Arleigh, who makes great breakfasts and makes sure her guests are happy and have what they need. I recommend it wholeheartedly. It is perfect for solo travellers, couples or families. The rooms and large rooftop terrace are absolutely spotless – Gloria keeps everything super clean and tidy – and the terrace is beautiful and covered in plants and flowers. (It also has a kitchen area to prepare coffee or food, as needed.) The beds are super comfortable, the showers have good water pressure, and it is easy to regulate the water temperature. I really enjoyed having coffee on the terrace and watching the butterflies and hummingbirds. The terrace has the perfect balance of shaded and sunny areas, and is great for people who want to escape the cold winter of northern climes. Morelia itself is still a hidden gem and hasn’t been ruined by tourism like some other towns, and has some incredible film and music festivals. Well worth a multi-day visit (5-7 days would be a good start for getting to know the city and doing some day trips, for example to Pátzcuaro). Very good...

We stayed at Casa Xola for a full week during our first trip to Morelia. Our stay enhanced our experience and it was such a great spot to return to each day after being out on adventures around Morelia. We stayed in the Terrace Room which is right off a shared roof top patio space and shared open air living room and kitchen space. Our room also had it’s own private patio space which we used on occasion as well, but the shared space on the roof top has a beautiful view over the neighboring roof tops and out to the mountains in the back ground that is wonderful. Lots of flowers and hummingbirds not to mention a cat now and then or a short visit from Maki her sweet small dog. The whole space that Arleigh has created is relaxing and beautiful. She gave us some great recommendations, and we had enjoyable conversations at the breakfast she graciously provided each day. I highly recommend Casa Xola if you are looking for something unique and special for your stay in Morelia. We...

I had a new room on the roof. It was wonderfully appointed and designed, very spacious, clean, and nice light! The shower was huge with nice water pressure. Arleigh prepared a huge breakfast each morning, with fresh fruits, yogurt, great coffee, juices, eggs, cereals etc. She has created an amazing and beautiful place with her style and warmth. She arranged a butterfly tour for me with two other guests, which was why I was in Morelia. It couldn’t have been any better. | I was at Xola for 4 nights. It is a brief little walk to she Zocalo in a safe neighborhood. My room was quiet, and I enjoyed seeing the city lights from my rooftop haven. There are so many lovely aspects to Xola. I highly recommend staying here. Arleigh the owner has created a very special place! It adds to the...
