I was recently in Nayarit Riviera, Mexico. On Tuesday night (Jan,9,2018) my husband and I went out for a stroll after our dinner at our resort. During our walk we happened on La Isla Restaurant Bar, we've never been to Mexico before. Just the first glance we knew we had to go there before going home. We went for our last meal there. We had to Steak dinner specials. I do not drink wine, margaritas or cerveza (beer), I asked if they had mango juice the waiter checked to make sure, I had a mango/vodka. He brought the vodka in a shot glass to make sure I liked the mango juice first. I mean who does that, that made me truly feel he cares how our experience went. They also shared their recipe for the salsa, even explained every detail. Thank you so much for that because it is to die for, the cook said I must've dropped my steak on the ground because I finished mine first. Then I proceeded to eat the rest of my husband's steak. The whole experience we had will make us repeat customers. Well worth every peso!!

Read moreWent to this restaurant with my family and the service was terrible. When we walked up nobody acknowledged us or let us know how long the wait would be. We were eventually seated and again nobody acknowledged us for 20 minutes. Finally we got our menus and the food took an hour and a half to come out. No one checked in on us or anything. During the time we waited, we saw several people walk out without food, probably because of the wait. Once we got our food half of it was good, the other half was not. The tuna and molcajete dishes were really good, but we got a plate of mixed seafood (originally an appetizer) and some of the clams were empty and had one shrimp. We also got plate of tacos that served dry chicken and chorizo which was basically a hotdog. We were extremely disappointed with this restaurant because the reviews were so good. We will not be going back and highly do not recommend.
The one thing we did enjoy was the saxophone player. He made the...
Read moreServed a Bloody Cesar today in a dirty chabala glass. there was a dirty hunk of grassy stuff in the indentation beneath the bowl of the glass. When brought to his attention, the manager or owner or guy in charge assured me, “the dirt is not in your glasses. It’s on the outside.“ he further explained how it dropped from the roof of the Palapa into the outside of the clean glass. Several times. Did not notice or care as he was making the drink. Worrisome he didnt notice or care. If big ball or dirt in glass slipped by, wonder what else does. An “Im Sorry” would have gone far. Excusing it as being on the outside 6 times is terrible. PS this is the 20th time I've been here,...
