Casa de los Viajeros — Hotel in Puerto Morelos

I recently enjoyed a fantastic stay at Casa de los Viajeros during a 10 day holiday in lovely, laid back Puerto Morelos. The Casa is ideally located just off of one of the two main north/south streets in PM with the stunning beach and Caribbean Sea just a two minute walk away and a 10 minute walk to the lively town square and malecon. I stayed in Apartment #2. It’s spacious, affordable, very comfortable, breezy, well appointed and super clean with a great kitchen with all you might need to make everything from morning coffee to a full dinner, just add your own groceries. Breakfast on the large patio listening to the birds and the breeze in the palms was divine. Did I say hammock? Of course, the myriad of wonderful restaurant choices in PM are bound to lure you down the street often too. The owners and hosts Rob and Joanne are lovely, kind people who are very knowledgeable about the town and area and easily accessible if need be. There is also a handy binder of key info and suggestions they have placed in the suite which I found invaluable more than once. As a plaque says in Apartment #2, “nuestra casa es su casa”. I loved everything about my stay at Casa de los Viajeros and would love to return as soon as possible for another awesome pause...

This was our second extended stay at Casa de los Viajeros, and we couldn't be more satisfied. We just love the location on a dead-end residential street which is quiet, yet close enough to walk to restaurants, shops and the beach. The apartments are impeccably clean, airy and well equipped for cooking if you choose to do so. Casa de los Viajeros has high-speed internet which provided excellent service.

For the two of us, apartment #3 was more than sufficient, and we particularly enjoyed observing parakeets, orioles, flycatchers and other local birds from the balcony. Puerto Morelos is an amazing place and Casa de los Viajeros is the perfect base to enjoy all that the area has to offer! It is conveniently located right by the best snorkeling beach in the area, and is easy walking distance to nearby restaurants. Rob & Joanne are wonderful hosts and you will feel like you are staying at your friend's house. (A friend who provides a useful list of totally reasonable rules to follow so you can be a good guest and understand the idiosyncrasies of staying in a house instead of a hotel.)
