Villas Clarita — Hotel in Puerto Morelos

Villas Clarita is an absolute paradise! The property owner Johnny is a most gracious host, and his witty and great sense of humour is an entertaining bonus. Johnny lives in his own separate home within the walled large private property. He is quick to respond to your needs should something arise. The gardens are gorgeous, the pool is very inviting, and shade is provided by coconut trees. Johnny's staff are very friendly, and there is daily room cleaning provided. The suite we stayed in was very comfortable and spotless, with excellent A/C in the bedroom. The daily breakfast buffet by the pool side was always good, especially the coffee and the granola!||The beach is quite close by, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquility at the villa. If we felt like going snorkelling for an hour, it was easy to be spontaneous. Beach towels, chairs and sun umbrella were provided. The snorkelling off the beach was fabulous! We saw quite a variety of fish, and seeing and feeling fresh water from the cenote blending into the salty water was a surreal experience.||Many good little restaurants are nearby, and the town centre is within a 10-15 minute walk through the scenic neighbourhood. The Food Truck Village was great with live music, and food at Tacos.com was excellent. Because some of the restaurants on Av Javier Rojo Gomez are quite small, seating spills outside onto the street which was partially closed to traffic in the evening. ||Puerto Morelos is such a quaint, friendly and laid-back fishing/beach town. I wish I had discovered it years ago. It is the perfect place if huge resorts, chain stores, and night life are not your scene. If you want a slower pace and a great place to disconnect and relax, this is it! The excellent snorkelling makes it very worthy of a visit. :)||It was nice to meet some of the other guests, some of whom have been staying at Villas Clarita for many years. Now I know why, and we cannot wait to return.||Thank you Johnny for everything, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our stay at your exquisite Villas Clarita! We hope to see you again...

From the moment my wife Mac and I arrived at Johnny's Most Excellent Villa Claritas it was as though we had walked onto a movie set with it's tropical gardens, coconut trees, Bouganvillea in full bloom, beautiful Mayan sculptures and a gorgeous aqua blue pool; and then we met the most splendid cast of characters, all of whom were guests at the villa, hosted by the fantastic Johnny Mastromarino. For both of us this became the backdrop to one of the best vacations we've had together. Step outside and experience Puerto Moroles, a genuinely friendly and welcoming Mexican town; a 100 metres away the Caribbean in all its splendour; stroll to the centre of town past dozens of little restaurants, serenaded by live music on every block. I could go on, oh wait a minute ...too late ... but let me just say this, you are in for a special treat if you stay at The Most Excellent Villa Claritas. Mac and Tony...

We love this place. The owner, Johnny, has made this place feel like a home away from home (cliché but, it's actually true in every sense.)Every morning you wake up and go to the garden/swimming pool area for fresh coffee and a wonderful breakfast including fresh fruits, rolls, breads bagels, cereals and more.||The place feels and even looks like the Garden of Eden...really.||Johnny takes care of your every need.
