This place is a hidden gem in the La Veleta neighborhood of Tulum. The hotel is very cute, with a small infinity pool, lounge chairs, and bar in the central courtyard (and lots of tropical plants everywhere. My room was exceptionally appointed and it was obvious that someone paid a lot of attention to the little details: the linens were luxurious (the bed was the most comfy hotel bed I've ever slept in), the toiletries smelled amazing, even the facial tissues were thick and plush. My room had a mini kitchen (complete with high-end tableware and glassware. The room was tastefully decorated with the boho aesthetic you expect from a hotel in Tulum, but it wasn't over the top. The selection of snacks and beverages that were available in the room were great, and I loved that they provided filtered water in reusable glass bottles rather than in disposible plastic bottles. Last but not least, the outdoor shower and plunge pool really made the room extra special. The concierge and the rest of the hotel staff were great. The check-in process could be better, but the hotel is fairly new and I think they just haven't hammered out the details yet. You have to download an app to use for the digital locks to your room. It would have been nice to know that in advance so that I could pre-download the app. I stayed there in August when there were a LOT of mosquitoes in Tulum, so having to connect to the wifi and installing the app gave the mosquitoes a lot of time to feast on me! Also, I was a little uncomfortable that at check-in they took pictures of my passport with a phone. I understand that they need to have a copy of my ID but this felt too casual. The lighting in the room was gorgeous and dramatic, but it would have been nice to have a well-lit area to do my makeup. Note about the location: this hotel is in the new neighborhood of La Veleta. It's off the main drag so it's not as congested as other parts of Tulum (which was a big plus). However, you should know that that the roads in the area are currently unpaved and are just crushed limestone and clay. The roads can be very bumpy and if it's rainy, there can be big puddles.

1. I had to buy my own sugar 2. No hot water for a week 3. I did not get room service (my choice? 4. Not what we expected for breakfast. (More suitable for 5 year olds) 5. Everything in the screenshot that I circled is not true. 6. No coffee shop 7. No Deli 8. No swim up bar 9. No happy hour was witnessed 10. No restaurant 11. No poolside bar. There is a bar top, but no drinks or anything else at the bar. 12. Did not see any common areas and no tea or coffee except a couple coffee pods left on a tray in the morning. No tea was seen. 13. The free breakfast is something adequate for a child no grown adults. You get a sippy cup of juice, a small yogurt, banana, and a dry crossaint. The property is located off a very rough terrain dirt road. There is a little cafe and grocery store directly across the street. I didn't see much for parking other than street parking, which could be limited. The rooms aren't bad however and the AC works great.

This was one of the most disappointing stays during our 2 week trip to Mexico! Details below: Horrible location - if you don’t rent a 4x4 car there is no chance you can get there as there roads are not paved and the holes are massive! Also, the rooms were not properly clean - we found some hair left in the shower area and used coffee cup on the terrace. We had a kitchen in our apartment and the cutlery and plates were stored on the floor under the sink - do they really think guests can use that once they see it? Also they say breakfast is included - what a joke! You can only have filter coffee and some fruits. Also, during our 5 night stay, we didn’t see anyone around to talk to, only people who were cleaning the areas around the pool.

I will write an honest review about the place it self, and about the service separately. We did not end up staying here due to the unfortunate mistake of the owner or employee it was never clear who she was. More on this after. The people traveling were me my husband and my 2 year old.

The place is nice, as mentioned it is in the middle of no where so if you don’t have a car it’s a little hard to move around. The rooms are nice, the pool in the room is very cool. We arrived and it was raining a lot so the floors were wet and most of the place was pretty wet and slippery. The place could have been mopped more so that guest didn’t have to arrive and get everything wet.

The service. So when we arrived The front desk manager didn’t seem to care that we had arrived or offer any assistance. Once we check in he was kind enough to help us with our bags to the room with was up the VERY slippery stairs. We asked him about were to eat dinner and he told us a place that was closed. But that was fine. We found a place on our own. As we were getting ready to leave I asked him about the crib we are requested prior. He said he had no idea about a crib they don’t have it. So this is where the inconvenience came. A few days before we traveled I called the hotel and ask for a crib. They reassured me that we would have one. I told her it’s ok if you don’t, but I do need to know before I leave because my daughter doesn’t sleep in a bed yet. She said yes don’t worry they had one. So when we arrived and they didn’t have one, we were of course not very happy and asked to be refunded the stay and we would go find another place. It is 9:30pm at this point, the place is flooded from the rain and we have no hotel to go to. Daniela the employee/owner who was not there, she lives in Mexico City said she would help me find a hotel in the city that had a crib. I said great, just refund me the nights and I’ll go. She found a hotel, but we didn’t like the room rate so we decided to go to another hotel that we were staying in 4 days later. So we left the hotel and told Daniela. She said no problem as soon as the hotel processes the night you will have your money back. So we left. A few days later Expedia says we will not be receiving a refund due to the fact it was a no refundable room. So we called Daniela and she was extremely rude, claiming that she had never said get our money back. Which is a total lie because we have the text message conversations where she says we would. Expedia believed her. We ended up doing a charge back which we will definitely win. But I would not go to this hotel again.

Again, the facilities are ok, they look and seem nice, but if anything goes wrong which it could because you are in the middle of a jungle, don’t think you will be getting any special treatment. I would avoid this hotel, there are plenty of other good options to choose from.

That said I hope Daniela does read this and gives us the full refund. But either way we will let the credit card deal with it. We have the proof so I’m not too worried.

Oh and there is a tone of construction next door, so it doesn’t seem...

We stayed in a room with a king bed and plunge pool. The decor was very modern and clean. The room had a mini kitchen with sink, mini fridge and hot plate. Everything was brand new and clean. The air conditioning worked perfectly all day and night. The bed was very comfortable. We actually had our 5 month old daughter with us and on the Expedia website it said they had a crib. We asked to use it and they brought us a brand new pack n’ play with the crib component. It worked out perfectly for our little girl. Our person plunge pool looked beautiful, unfortunately it was too cold for us to enjoy since it isn’t heated. Outside the room there is a really beautiful pool with lounge chairs and towels. The restaurant is right there in this area as well. The ambiance is really chill with chill music playing. The breakfast included is really nice…coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, and bread with jam. For an additional cost you can purchase other meal items like omelette, waffles, chilaquiles etc. I ate chilaquiles with arrachera (grilled steak) and the omelette which had spinach and asparagus inside. The food was really awesome and reasonably price. They have cocktails after a certain hour until 6pm but we weren’t around during these times to try them out. On the rooftop there is a super cute area with hammocks that is nicely shaded. All staff were very friendly and helpful! Especially the waiter.

Unfortunately the area around the hotel is under construction. The first night we were there, there was construction until 9:30pm! The hotel manager spoke with the construction company and after that day they stopped construction around 5pm or so. There isn’t much around the hotel itself so you need a car (which we had) or take a taxi which will cost you a lot in Tulum because everything is overpriced. The road isn’t finished either around the hotel so it’s a dirt road with potholes. My only issues with the hotel was the construction and the music that is played from 8am-9:30pm in the main area. It’s actually very nice music when outside enjoying the pool area/restaurant area, but can hear it in the room too and if trying to relax it can be a bit annoying.

I do think the staff was awesome and the hotel itself is very cute. Just beware of the...
