Hotel feels a bit old and yet still possesses a certain charm. Entrance decor is beautiful and the space feels peaceful as soon as you walk in after being in the busy streets of the Medina. Room had everything we needed, including a sweet little balcony. Terrace on the roof was also nice. Sadia, at the front desk was an amazing help and host. My friend and I ended up having a difficult end of trip with a few unplanned events come up but we felt her compassion and urge to help us in any way she could. So personable and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable asking as many questions as I needed to which I appreciated. The hotel is located less than 10 minutes walking to the train station, a large shopping mall for groceries and the Hassan II Mosque which has an amaaaazing Hamman!!! Must go! Bottom line is that the hotel met all our needs, but it was the care and professionalism of Sadia at the front desk that gave our experience of the city a whole other flavour and made it feel as comfortable as possible for us. Thank you...
Read moreDont expect too much. Room is small, bit moist because of the sea and port close by, quite noisy but authentic local square in front. It is not for relaxation purpose but for adventure stay. Train and taxi station close by, taxi can also drop you off in front of the hotel which is nice. Location on edge of medina, managable walk to big mosque etc.
Breakfast is good. Not a lot of food but will serve more on request. Wifi very good. Bathroom small and not so good.
Reception will help you out with (actually good!) recommendations.
Downside for us (but very common ofcourse for religious places) was the inability to have a nice evening alcoholic drink. It is possible to get somehow but it is quite a hassle. Do not expect a beer in the lobby.
Big downside for me; not feeling safe/welcome on the streets. Has nothing to do with the hotel itself but the hotel is kind of in the old medina. Just know what area...
Read moreIts difficult to get a feeling of whether the staff are friendly or not. During check in the receptionist was very rude by saying he didn't have time to wait as I was searching my passport for the tourist entry visa. But during the rest of the stay he seemed to bring on a air of friendliness (or was it sarcasm) as we left or returned after walking around the town. Other than this I think the rooms are adequate for a cheap stay in casablanca by I wouldn't stay more than one or two nights. We had a good room on the top floor with a view over the port area and square. Room 322 seems to be one of the best. We had a sneaky peak into some of the other rooms and noted that some didn't have windows. Breakfast wasn't included for us although it says so in the Google maps information panel. It's only an extra couple of euros for breakfast and it...
