La femme de ménage nous a volé dans la chambre de l'hôtel, ne venez pas ici!!!!!
We stayed in this hotel from 22 to 24 November 2023. In all tourist guides it is said you should be careful outside the hotel as there is a lot of crime in Morocco, but we were ROBBED right in the hotel room.
My mum and her friend on Tuesday (23 November) left their luggage and hand bags in their room and decided to have some breakfast. It was early in the morning, around 9 am. All their expensive things and money were in safe, so they did not expect anything bad to happen.
As I travelled from another city, I joined them later that day. We were about to go to a fancy restaurant to celebrate her Bday, when my mum started to search for dollars in her bag. She remembered that she put everything in the safe but left 300$ for a restaurant right in her hand bag. She could not find it anywhere...
Her friend felt something strange and immediately started to check her own bag as well.... she was caught off guard when she realized she did not have 600$ in her bag as well. You might think they were robbed on the street or somewhere.... we thought that as well! But then we started to investigate that and we realized it is not possible to take half of the money from the wallet and leave the other half there! They would have stolen the whole wallet then!
And then they understood that the only time they did not have their bags with them was during the breakfast!
I went straight to the reception and asked to call the police. The guy working there told me the police cannot enter the hotel without permission 😂 Okay, we waited for the manager! We were so lucky that the manager was not part of this dirty things happening in the hotel. I think his name was Tarik and to be honest he is the only good person working there.
The manager helped us with everything, he managed to find the recording from the camera in the middle of the night. There we could see that my mum and her friend went to breakfast around 08:54 in the morning, and the cleaning staff entered their room right after them! for 3 mins!!! what did she do there?!!?!?!??! The manager told me they are not allowed to enter the room until 11 am!!!
Next day the manager had a serious conversation with this girl - for 4 hours she kept telling us that she did not steal any money!!! When they asked her what she did in the room around 9 am, she said she wanted to take the trash out of the room. It is very sweet of her, why then she left the room without the trash???😂 As we could see on the camera record.
Only when we went to the police station together with that cleaner, she started to cry and she said she stole the money! The police came to her house and gave us money back!
But I really want to say the following: I spent 7 hours trying to take MY MONEY back! I was not guilty that their cleaners steal things from the room, right? And if it is so unsafe in rooms, cleaners can steal something when you are having a shower as well!
What did the hotel tell me? They said 'sorry'... THANKS! Sorry??? Are you serious???? I ruined the whole Birthday party, I had my tickets to another city, I had fancy restaurant booked, and you say just 'sorry'?
Did they offer me a cup of tea while I was waiting for the police? NO. Did they offer at least to pay 10$ for a taxi to the station when they knew I have tickets to another city? No. Did they offer me to have lunch for 15$? NO.
The only thing they did is that they were rude to me at the reception. This was a girl working in the restaurant in the hotel and Zara (I think that is her name, she is another manager) who was an absolutely terrible and rude worker.
THIS IS THE ATTITUDE TO THEIR CLIENTS THAT THEY HAVE 🙂
The only message from me: DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL, there are so many nice hotels there, for a better price.
If you do not believe this story is true, please ask the local police for...

We had booked Oum Palace on Booking.com, it's the best value stay we have ever had. On arrival, we were greeted by a very charming gentleman, whose name was Tarik, who checked us in and arranged a porter to take our suitcases up to our fabulous room, it was a fantastic large, very clean, with 2 queen beds, seating, and side tables, a widescreen TV and a large shower room, we could not fault it. The breakfast was abundant with choices, Moroccan mint tea, normal tea, any coffee you desire, patisserie/breads, and a nice lady was making eggs/omelets, etc, just how you like them|Tarik gave us directions to the Medina, which was a short walk away, and we got some lovely souvenirs. Later on that evening, we went to Rick's Cafe Bar, which was amazing with its nostalgic art deco style. When we arrived back at the hotel, I asked Tarik if he knew of any nice bars in the area. he said just around the corner we could find a select few, which we did and had a great time.|Our check-out time was 12:00, but we were told we could stay a bit longer. when finally checked, we could leave our cases in a secure room as our train was not until 6 pm.|Overall, our experience of Oum Palace was fantastic and the staff made all the difference to an unforgettable stay. Thank you all...
Read moreI’ll start with the positives, the door man/bellhop is wonderfully warm and inviting. Good location, streets around are clean and feel safe. Pillows were fluffy and was four of them. Now the negatives bed was hard as stone, sheets not nice quality and made me itchy. Towels thin and dirty. Bathroom has mould, room has mould, aircon when on smells of mould. Bidet smells of sewage when sprayed. Floors dirty, hairs on the bed. Overall rundown rooms. Wifi barely works in room. Had people walk into my room multiple times, without so much as a knock, once while I was undressing and another i just got out of the shower. Breakfast was somehow cold and stale when I arrived at 6am (opening time) and covered with fruit flies they were also IN the juice Tried to make a reservation at the spa, first i rang explained what I wanted was met with silence then was hung up on, so went down and was met with rude hospitable staff who told me to come back at a later time then when I did they just looked at me disgustedly and refused the treatments we discussed. Then proceeded to talk about me I guess assuming because I’m Australian I do not speak French (...
