The hotel is warm and friendly. A little jewel of a boutique it is full of accommodating staff. Here you understand what is one of the many treasures of Morocco: its' very people. The hospitality pours out from their welcoming attitudes and you just become enamoured with the staff. You later realise that the very people who work there, despite the hotel being tastefully designed, are the real attraction and reason why you keep coming back. From the doormen to the reception to the lounge bar to the cleaners to the repairmen, everyone is a person worthy of much love and respect because they really make you feel at home. In fact coming back to Casablanca and staying at this hotel feels like that now, coming back to home. These very same people are what made me fall in love with Morocco. A love that started with them and will never end as I have so much to explore of this African Jewel. Great people there of whom you become friends with because how can their warmth not rub on you? Such as the doorman Younes with his zeal and love of his religion that he expresses to you captivating to you expressing you the beauty of what he and his ancestors believe. Ajoub, a hearty sportsman with a big smile, the epitome expression of positivity that only guy crazy for good health can give. The lovely and always smiling Aasmaa, so smart and endearing always helpful and delightful. Maria, a girls bestfriend ready to have a laugh with her positive and strong attitude. Soukaina, such a lovely person whose smile will melt your heart and bring happiness even in the most tiring of days. Mustapha, a mans man with a noble demeanour unlike many others. Taha, a great guy at the reception who's kindness just blows you away. And Taha's brother, Ismail, a wonderful soul whose a true patriot for his country, representing it beautifully helping the guests with his kindness, showing a side of Morocco at its best: hospitable, warm, and enchanting. And everyone else are wonderful as well. I dont care much for the people who work at hotels I always travel for work, destroy myself at work, but when I am at this hotel it is different. You too can take the Odyssee and fall in love with Moroccan people just like I die.
I am looking forwards to the next time I...
Read moreA good hotel, centrally located in Casablanca. It is a block away from the CTM bus station (which is great, as my next stop was to Chefchaouen direct by bus, since I didn’t want to go to Tangiers first). It is about a half an hour walk from the Hassan II mosque. I am an adventurer, so I very much enjoy walking. I walked through the old Medina and very much enjoyed it (use a map app, as the streets are a literal maze). Gihine at the front desk was fantastic, super helpful, and answered all of my questions. Took off one star because the taxi that the hotel arranged was not waiting for me upon arrival. I had to call the hotel and it seems that no one was ever dispatched. Had to wait over half an hour for him to arrive. The hotel said I could pay the taxi ride at the hotel with credit card, as i did not have local currency yet. I confirmed this the driver. When I arrived at the hotel, the driver kept asking for cash and i told him I don’t have any, I’ll pay inside the hotel by credit card. He said I should go to the currency exchange and he will wait. I said no and proceeded into the hotel. For the hotel, my recommendation (and it’s possible you already have it) is a recommendation of restaurants of different types (for breakfast, for dinner, traditional Moroccan food, etc). I didn’t bother to ask for recommendations as I like to explore and experience. The greatest difficulty I found is the language barrier. Casablanca is very French forward, and not one restaurant I went to had English menus and they had very limited English speaking staff. Had to use a lot of...
Read moreI was definitely disappointed at this hotel. This was one of the worst hotel experience I and my spouse ever experienced as travelers. The only thingsl nice about the hotel was the location. First of, on their website they advertise they have 2 resturants and a full bar. However, upon arrival they only have 1 resturant for buffet (midocre and same everyday)and their second resturant has been closed since COVID as stated by staff. Also, in the bar they have bottles of alcohol on the shelves but have NO alcohol. So what is the point of having empty bottles?? Upon check in, we were told to wait for our room to be ready, once ready the door man came to pick up our luggage and moved towards the elevators. No communication from front desk about what room number, breakfast times or any info. When I asked him about the times for breakfast he seemed irritated. When you walked into the hotel, at first glance it looked nice at the entrance which is such a facade because our rooms were nasty. It looked like "molds" on the ceiling, the bathtub and shower heads were disgusting, bathtub was not flowing so the water will sit and drain slowly see photos. When my spouse asked for tea at the front desk he said "you can go outside if you want tea". The menus in the rooms were not updated as they did not serve most of the meals. Our room phone was not working so for EVERY request we had to go downstairs. We asked them twice and no one ever came to fix it! This was the worst experience, I will never go back and highly do...
