Just got back from a week surf trip with 2 of my mates. The hostel is a great location right on the beach, the food is amazing - healthy and wholesome and plenty of it (which surprised me because the package we got was cheap for a UK citizen to go on holiday so thought portions would be small). The rooms were made each day and tidied !! Thank you to the chefs and room cleaners for your hard work.

The surf beaches were good and the instructors took each day as it came - checked out the surf at each beach before choosing one. I don’t think we had a lesson with more than 5 of us per instructor. They were all encouraging and gave really good advice for us beginners, and hammered in the “no knee” or “look at your hands”. When we got out to the line up on my final day I was super scared but the instructor listened and chose the smaller waves for me to ride in. There was no pressure to do something you didn’t want to do. It took us a day or 2 to get into motion of the hostel as I felt there was little communication on the activites and our first day going to the surf shop - what needed to be done you just had to follow everyone else etc. For example going to sand boarding we did a whole 30 min round trip only to end up back at Taghazout (still don’t know what we did/why we couldn’t have waited at the hostel) And then on the 40 min drive out there we stopped a few times at places but the staff never said anything. So a pick up on communication would be my only thing to say, let the customer know what’s happening, or maybe book the activites through other hostels/places. Otherwise the staff were lovely, joking around and a happy environment to be in. I already want to book myself back into the hostel 😊. Also quiet at night and only the sound of...

Where do I start... Maybe with the fact that I already booked another stay at Hashpoint after just 3 days of being back home? Hashpoint surfcamp has the best possible location in Taghazout (if you love the sound of waves 24/7 and an amazing view from every window) JUST in front of the Hash Point surf spot (thus the name of the house:P). Beautifully decorated rooms and common space on the rooftop (which is not so normal in the area! I was surprised how many hostels still have only white walls and this blue lighting effect, not cozy at all!). Hashpoint's rooftop has this amazing cozy vibe with colourful pillows and plants everywhere, very photogenic. The common table is spacious enough to fit a dozen of people. Maybe more, wasn't counting, but it feels good. OMG the bathrooms are oh so pretty, rustic typical Morrocan style with traditional zelige tiles

The staff at hashpoint is very friendly and helpful. Sadly our surf trip became a catastrophe. After two days staying there it turns out most of the people at the camp have gastric flu. After some researches and talks it turns out the gastric flu is going on in the whole town since months. The town flushes all the sewage directly into the ocean and the circle of infections goes on and on. They don’t get the situation under control. And you smell it in the whole town and in the ocean.

Why does that lead to a bad rating of the hash point camp? First of all they make money by knowing they are risking people’s health. And we are not talking about the normal travel risks, this is way beyond that. You can not justify that in any way.

Second when you arrive they don’t lose a word about it. So you can not even try to protect yourself in advance or try to get away. After some time you get the information about the risks of the town, ocean and camp from other guests. When you then talk with the owners you get some kind of information about what is going on, but the kind of talk their way out of it. The little FAQS section at the camp website is not enough and does not tell the real situation or risks at all.

They try to find solutions, but at the actual situation that is not going to change so quickly. You should avoid going there with all costs. We just wasted time, money, health and our holidays. I’m now waiting for my medical test results in germany to know what I’m infected with so i don’t risk other people’s health.

If you want to make yourself a bigger picture please check out the reviews about Taghazout beach in the internet. This problem exists since a...

I chose this house based on all the extremely positive reviews here. Unfortunately, it didn't meet expectations on all fronts... + The location is great! Taghazout is very cute and the house is nicely located at the seaside. I really enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets. + The terrace is like the pictures. Love the decorations. + Loved the pancakes in the morning. And dinner was good to delicious - especially the BBQ! + The people are very friendly. - The surfing lessons could be better for sure. If you really want to progress quickly, this is not your best option. The website mentioned video analysis, but didn't get that. - There is a looooot of waiting. Maybe it's the laid-back culture, but I found it a pure waste of time. - I only took classes on the first 2 days as I got injured. I paid everything upfront and wasn't allowed to cancel the remaining classes. After quite some discussions, they paid me back my trip to the hammam. - The hammam ordered via the house was not hot, I was even a bit cold. The massage is really nice though. And they take their time to wash and peel you. I forgot my bikini at the hammam and they said they would bring it for 3 consecutive days - never got it back... - The room was simple but ok (shared double room). But there was no frequent cleaning, so always a lot of sand everywhere.

It took me a long time to figure out what kind of opinion to write for this place. I was at Hash Piont on a week-long trip, together with my girlfriends. The resort itself is in a fantastic location, right on the beach. The food is good, including vege options. The biggest problem with the place is the inconsistency of communication and pervasive chaos. The staff - with the exceptions of Amen and Laura - is not very friendly and does not create an atmosphere "like home" despite appearances, shown on social media. They do not care about the camp participants, organizing an outing together and then leaving some without informing them of the plans. Unfortunately, Morocco is not one of the safest countries for women and we felt very uncomfortable in some situations. The issue of surfboards is also problematic. You have to take them with you both from under the hostel, to the car and then to the beach. The boards are heavy, and the instructors get upset if the board is not clean after surfing, which is difficult to achieve with the hot sand and the weight of the board itself - lack of any understanding and better organization of transportation. In conclusion, I will definitely not return to this particular surf camp and will not recommend it to anyone of my acquaintance.
