I stayed here for a night in May and loved it so wanted to come back but unfortunately this time (November 2022) it wasn't the same. The staff are great, its comfortable, good location etc etc. but its not worth the price of EUR150 a night for the room I had. I think back in May it was closer to EUR100, but there wasn't the same relaxed , calming atmosphere. Room 1 in the main building where I stayed this time is actually quite dark and opened out to the street and not great to be in. I stayed in the other building in May which opens out to a kind of private courtyard / riad style which was WAY nicer. Its like staying at a different hotel. Also I think its literally the only bar in town so it is super busy and consequently quite noisy until about midnight. The staff are rushed off their feet so there's no preference for guests. Thats fine, its a popular place , but its the same price as the Sofitel in Agadir for example. I understand its an eco vibe thing but thats not reflected in the price, and I wouldn't come here again. Advice would be expect slow service in the evening because it is really busy with quite affluent 20 somethings from Europe socialising here to use the bar and wifi, Alcohol is expensive because its a muslim country and thats just how it is. It's actually cheaper here for a pint than in Dubai about 5 years ago.Probably better to stay in the other building i.e. not where reception is, but if you do request not to stay on the 1st floor if you prefer minimal noise in the evening. Taghazout is a great place but there's a lot of stray dogs so can be noisy...
Read moreIve been to Munga today with friends hoping to have a great time and enjoy the evening. Unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable, primarily due to the extremely rude behavior of the doorman.
From the moment we approached the entrance, the doorman greeted us with an unwelcoming attitude. He seemed disinterested and made it clear that he had no intention of accommodating us. Despite there being no visible signs of overcrowding or any valid reasons for denying entry, he just refused us without providing any explanation or alternative suggestions.
We clearly saw that the place was empty and that foreigners were allowed to go in. But perhaps they just installed this very discriminative policy against Moroccans, although it’s not our first time there.
The doorman was not only discourteous but also unprofessional. His lack of basic customer service skills left us feeling humiliated and unwelcome and mostly DISCRIMINATED in our own land. It's disheartening when a place that claims to offer a fun and vibrant atmosphere fails to uphold even the most basic standards of hospitality.
Never going back and never...
Read moreSuch a lovely stay at Munga. Probably one of the best places, if not the best place to stay in Taghazout (my third visit). The rooms are large, decor is beautiful, plumbing is great. We had access to a huge shared balcony with an undisturbed view of the beach (20sec walk to beach) and from the breakfast tables on the top of the building you can watch Anchor Point and everything else.
The staff are incredibly kind, patient and always friendly when you approach them. Esma and Maryem at reception always helpful, Khadija and Sadiya cook a great breakfast for every single person, Abdulla spotlessly and kindly cleaned our room every day, and Yussef makes a great cocktail ('The Munga' will take you places). And then every other person working there that we interacted with without fail were so kind and made for an amazing stay - thank you everyone.
The restaurant/bar (separate building from almost all the rooms so it's not noisy) also seems like it's the place to be at the moment in Taghazout. Well done. The only trouble we had was securing a table there as it was always busy. In the first week of November! Make sure you...
