Giraffe Hostel — Hotel in Essaouira

BEDBUGS! Me and a friend booked a stay at this hostel for one week through Hostelworld. We paid the deposit online and the rest on arrival. Unfortunately, we already discovered on the first night that the beds were full of bugs, and small larvae were crawling in the mattresses. It was simply unbearable and we couldn't sleep there.

We documented everything with pictures and videos and informed the owner, but they refused to give us a refund, despite the fact that we didn't even sleep one night. This is completely unacceptable and we feel cheated.

He even cancelled the booking on his end so we cannot write a review on Hostelworld.

I would warn others against staying here. The hygiene standards are beyond criticism, and the customer service is just as bad. Save your money and find somewhere...
