The hotel is impeccably furnished and decorated, absolutely beautiful, I was impressed as soon as I stepped in. I don't have a bad thing to say about the food, the cleanliness or the lovely staff, who went above and beyond for my daughter and myself, as unfortunately I broke my ankle in a fall (on the beach) soon after arriving. Karima was able to extend our stay (we had intended to return to Marrakesh on the coach, but my accident wouldn't allow this), and make all arrangements to enable the rest of our stay being as comfortable as possible. She even borrowed a wheelchair so that I could get out and about. I could have cried! My daughter did cry 😊 Yes, it was difficult for me to use the stairs but we knew about stairs in riyadhs when we booked. This got easier as the week went along in any case as we were on the first floor in one of the duplex rooms, with a lovely wet room. The food that we had was amazing especially the seafood pastilla, and i am not normally a fan of seafood. I believe it's possible to eat in the restaurant even if you're not staying there, provided a booking is made. All being well I will go back to Mama Lova, and as well as Karima I would like to thank Sad, Latifa, Latifah's brother (sorry I don't remember your name), Halil, sorry about the spellings and the names I didn't add but I will be back *inshallah* when will be able to use the lovely rooftop terrace, which I only saw once!

A Perfect Escape in Essaouira! We absolutely loved our stay at Mama Lova! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome – check-in was a breeze, and we felt right at home. Each morning started with a fantastic breakfast spread, full of delicious options that kept us fueled for a day of exploring. And let me tell you, the beds were so comfortable! We slept 10 hours the first night, and 9 hours the second — highly unusual for us! The rooftop was something special (see pics), with incredible views over the city – honestly, I think it’s the best view in all of Essaouira. The hotel’s location couldn’t have been better either; we were close to everything, which made it so easy to soak up the charm of the city. Everything was spotless, well-kept, and truly lovely, all at a price that felt like such a great value. Our room was not only impeccably clean and cozy, but it was also well soundproofed, giving us a peaceful retreat after busy days out. Even the water pressure was excellent – a small detail, but it really added to the comfort! Mama Lova is one of those places you leave already wanting to come back. For anyone looking for a friendly, beautiful place to stay in Essaouira, I couldn’t recommend it more. We left with happy hearts and can’t wait to return!

One of our favorite spots in Essaouira to see the sunset. It’s true that we came for the view but stayed for the flavors. The mezze was fresh and delicious—especially paired with their homemade bread and vibrant hibiscus tea. Everything felt thoughtful and made with care. The staff was very kind. Watching the sun set over the medina rooftops from this quiet rooftop was pure magic. A peaceful, soulful experience—we’d come back in a heartbeat.

This perfectly beautiful, well-run hotel is one of the highlights of our trip. To be able to come back to the hotel and feel like you returned back to your own home is a unique feeling. ||Karima, Khalil, Saad, and the rest of the staff go above and beyond to make you happy and satisfied. Everything from restaurant recommendation to taxi service is perfect. ||Our room, with a small loft with an extra bed, was nicely decorated with some uniquely picked items like a record player and old suitcases. Mattresses are nice and firm and the pillows, oh the pillows! (For those of you who are fussy about pillows, you will not be disappointed!)||The room is clean and made up every day. And finally we found a hotel that respected not to change the towels unless they are on the floor. Good for the environment and the overall workload for the staff.||The breakfast really is difficult to describe with words, it needs to be experienced. Typical Moroccan dishes that varies a bit from day to day. Olives, dates, honey, nut-butter, pancakes, flatbread, oats/porrige, omelett, orange juice, coffee, cream cheese, hummus etc etc! Everything served at the table. They cater really well to celiac disease with lots of really good alternatives!! ||The location is great, in the old town with easy access from the main gate (but perhaps you want to get a luggage service because of the uneven streets).||We would love to come back and recommend it to travellers to Essaouira. There were both friends and families at the hotel but mind that it might be some noise coming from the stairs and rooms as they all face the inside of the riad. ||A gem of a boutique hotel, the Mama Lova...
