It was my first dinner in Nepal last June 28,2019 me and my friends ordered 4 Thali set and 1 chowmien. I was ok for waiting at least 15-20mins. But all the food came on installment. 2 Thali set came first, then after like 20mins the other 2 thali Set came, and I waited 1hr for my chowmien to come. I was trying to cancel after 50mins of waiting then only they cooked it and told us to wait for it. I told my friend to just leave the chowmien and pay for it but she still took it so we at least can taste it at home... I am a chef myself and I tasted all the food that 4 of my friends had(coz I am a tourist exploring food around the world). All I can say is everything that I have tasted is just a nasty plates of smooshed over cooked veggies and super dry scratchy chicken. And the chowmien was blunt as hell, I think it is way better to eat an instant noodles on the streets than sitting uncomfortably in a loud ridiculous place like this OYO in Thamel. The service is so slow and even the cooks are slower. The Manager dont know how to speak properly. They just ruined my first night...

I stumbled across The Beli Garden Restaurant as it had a sign on a main street in Thamel. Restaurant is just down a short alley (20 metres from Main Street). Getting out of the mayhem of Thamel for a meal was heavenly. And the veg dahl bhatt was so good I ended up coming back 3 more times in my two week trip. The owner introduced himself to me while I was waiting for my order. He even took me to a store to help me but a SIM card and data package for my phone. It’s a new place and the staff is will go above and beyond to try and succeed....
