Tree Land Lodge — Hotel in Ratnanagar

This is really good value for money and highly recommended if you're happy with basic, but it's done excellently. The rooms are large and clean with ceiling fan, netted windows and plug in mosquito repellent. Bathrooms are a decent size and you have warm water.

The hosts are very friendly and extremely helpful. Everyone speaks a good level of English and they will do anything to help you.

I spent 4 days here during monsoon season so I wasn't out exploring all the time. The terrace outside of my room makes a perfect calm place to sit, read, drink tea and listen to the birds. You can also do the 15 second walk to the river and sit on a bench under a little roof with your book and camera.

Enjoyable stay in Sauraha! Went there for 2, but ended up staying 4 nights Lovely staff, family-run. Big rooms. Green garden and peaceful riverside view with seats. Affordable - has the best price and quality combination, rooms start from 500 NRP (compared to 800-1000 in other places). Food is delicious and prices are around 100 NRP for MoMos, fried rice, chowmein, porridge etc.

Also, they help you organise tours to the Chitwan National Park, again for a better price...

I really enjoyed my stay at Treelands Lodge and have returned more than once, both Sudan and his wife are extremely friendly and treat guests as one of the family. I especially like the unspoiled garden which is very green and full of trees, including bottle palms and the riverside views with seating over looking the Rapti River with the Chitwan National park on the opposite bank.
