Bed Breakfast Boat — Hotel in Amsterdam

We were going to Amsterdam for a few days and I searched for accommodation. One of the searches threw up the Bed Breakfast Boat, sounded like fun so I contacted the owner (Rene) and it turned out the boat was free when we wanted it. Rene is the perfect host - fridge etc. was well stocked with all the essentials with fresh fruit, croissants, bread etc. being delivered for breakfast each day. We had to ask him to stop on our last day as we couldn't keep up! The living & bed space is very spacious and everything was immaculately clean and tidy. On our arrival Rene took the time to point out all the features and give us tips on where to eat & shop. The boat has books, TV, DVD, Netflix etc. so no shortage of things to do if you are having a quiet night in! The boat is a short (15 mins) tram ride from Centraal station but you could probably walk it in 25 minutes - it's on the same road as the station to the east. Boat was priced reasonably against staying in a city centre hotel! Bottom line is this is a fantastic way to stay in Amsterdam and we will definitely be staying with Rene on...

Siamo venuti a conoscenza del Bed Breakfast Boat di René ancor prima di cercare su internet, grazie ad un suggerimento di una carissima amica che, tempo fa, aveva soggiornato proprio qui.||Già dai primi contatti via e-mail, per la prenotazione, René si è dimostrato molto gentile, affabile e premuroso.||Noi viaggiamo sempre con il nostro cane e per René non è stato un problema accoglierlo.||Per noi un grande punto a favore! ||Abbiamo raggiunto la houseboat dopo un giorno di visite ed un lungo viaggio, ed è stato davvero bello potersi rilassare a bordo acqua, in un’atmosfera pacifica e tranquilla. Niente caos, nessun rumore se non quello della natura. René ci ha accolti con molta cortesia.||Viaggiavamo con la nostra auto, per cui per noi è stato molto prezioso avere la garanzia di parcheggiare proprio nella stessa via del B&B! Il servizio è a pagamento (tranne la domenica), ma è più che giustificato, avete visto i prezzi dei parcheggi auto di Amsterdam?||La houseboat è situata a Zeeburg, zona Est di Amsterdam, avevo letto da qualche parte che è troppo fuori dal centro o che è una posizione scomoda. Noi non siamo d’accordo, è vero che non si è a 2 passi a piedi da Piazza Dam, ma tutto è raggiungibile in breve tempo, in tram (ottimo servizio) oppure a piedi se si ha voglia di fare qualche bella passeggiata, oppure ancora, in bicicletta. René offre 2 biciclette a noleggio. Noi non le abbiamo mai noleggiate, perché avendo il nostro cagnolone con noi, preferivamo muoverci in tram o a piedi.||Comunque, se preferite pace e tranquillità al caos del centro, allora questo è il posto giusto.||Buon punto di partenza anche per gite fuori porta. ||Nei dintorni della houseboat si trovano locali nei quali cenare, la prima sera per esempio siamo stati alla Pompstation (Zeeburgerdijk 52, 1094 AE Amsterdam), ma se ne trovano anche altri. René è comunque di aiuto con guide, mappe e suggerimenti che fa trovare e mostra nell’ alloggio. C’è a disposizione anche un tablet Samsung per navigare in internet.||La mattina, al vostro risveglio, troverete un bel bauletto fuori dalla porta con la vostra colazione fresca, pane, cornetti, pan au chocholat, frutta, succhi e yogurt. Marmellata, burro e altro li troverete già nel frigorifero a vostra disposizione.||La colazione va bene anche per vegetariani (come me).||Fantastico e comodo avere a disposizione una mini-cucina con tutto l’occorrente, tra cui macchina del caffè/tea, frigorifero, stoviglie, posate ecc.. ||La houseboat ha anche una parte esterna dove potersi rilassare, magari la mattina con una tazzona di caffè in mano, o la sera, prima di andare a dormire… O quando volete, è sempre bello e troverete a farvi compagnia paperelle e cigni, bello, no? :-)||Il bagno è piccolo, ma ha tutto ciò che serve, fantastico il phon messo a disposizione (con tanto di diffusore! - Le donne mi capiranno!) di solito negli alberghi/B&B si trovano quei caspita di mini-phon.. ;D||Mi è piaciuta molto la disposizione dell’arredamento, e l’idea di utilizzare il bellissimo armadio guardaroba come divisorio tra sala/cucina e zona notte.||||Che altro dire?||Se torneremo ad Amsterdam, sicuramente soggiorneremo di nuovo da René! Sperando di trovare...
