Pictures are dramatized to entice you. The real picture is the one with the 2 beds side by side. Very small room and bathroom. When you sit on the toilet your knees touch the door small, as you shower the water flows towards the door, they even have a squeegee for you to re-direct the water back towards the drain. There is no tea and fruits in what they would call a lobby, no fridge, no microwave, tv doesn’t work. Staff is disrespectful, none of the doors in the building open smoothly and lastly this is absolutely not a hotel, cheap hostel in a safe residential area 28 mins walking south of central Amsterdam. Cleaning lady was sweet, beds are cozy, bedding is good.

Central Hotel was incredible the hotel was so reasonably priced for starters, every single hotel member from the housekeepers to the managers took time everyday to make sure your day was enjoyable. It includes breakfast until 11:00am and a 24 hour cafe that includes food and beer, coffees and tea. It’s a 4 minute walk to the town square. We celebrated Mexican Independence Day with 20 million people had no problem getting there and back to our hotel! It was incredible! We will be back!

Hotel Krap? I booked a small room. That's ok. Was small. Wasn't prepared for the smell emanating from the shower drain however. Probably rotting hair. Also building materials piled up on the upper floor that prevented us from opening our door fully. Room as otherwise clean and tidy. Stairs are boat like in steepness with no lift. Young lad at the reception was super helpful and professional. A saving grace. Perfect position for the train to Central and to Schipol to fly in and out.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE – AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I stayed ONE NIGHT at Hotel Kap and it was a NIGHTMARE from start to finish. They gave me a key card FOR THE WRONG ROOM. Yes, you read that right. I was locked out ALL NIGHT. I spent hours outside the hotel, calling and calling — but guess what? There is NO RECEPTION at night and NO ONE picks up the phone. I even had OTHER TENANTS call on my behalf and they ignored EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US.

This is not just bad service. This is a COMPLETE DISGRACE.

When I finally managed to get someone the next day the receptionist admit that it was their fault and he went with me upstairs and saw with his own eyes that i could not enter with their card key, and he was apologizing and informing me he will escalate that to his manager for at least the basic compensation for everything that i went through the whole night!Of course none of that happened and they emailed me weeks after, and having the AUDACITY to be IRONIC, as if it was MY fault creating stories about me having wrong card😂 just to avoid refund me the money for one day of “stay”.Unbelievable arrogance and total lack of responsibility from both staff and management.

This is the WORST hotel I have EVER stayed in, run by people who clearly have no idea what professionalism or basic human decency is. If you value your time, your safety, and your sanity, do yourself a favor: STAY AWAY...

My family and I stayed at Hotel Kap during a brief visit in Amsterdam. Our room had four single beds. There was just enough room for four people with luggage. The bathroom was very clean and felt like it recently had been renovated. Wifi was good and there were electrical sockets to charge your electronic devices. The man who helped us during both check-in and check-out was very friendly and charming and gave us helpful recommendations of both grocery stores, restaurants and tourist attractions. The location was good being located only a few hundred meters from a subway station and walking distance from the city. However, the only way to get up to the rooms was through climbing a very long, steep and narrow staircase and there was no elevator. As we stayed here in summer and there was no air conditioning, it also got really hot in our room. It’s worth to mention though that we got a fan that helped at least a bit with the temperature. It was really good for a two-star hotel and overall we had a great experience with Hotel Kap! Would without a doubt...
