I found this place thanks to Top Jaw Amsterdam and decided to try what they suggested, so the Navajo Eggs. I also took a cappuccino. I didn't join the queue on the website because the estimated time was only 8 minutes but then when I arrived they said I had to wait around 20/25 minutes. So, I suggest you to join the queue on the website anyway. The cappuccino was beautiful but not as good as it looked like. The dish was also good but nothing crazy. The pulled pork was just enough warm and quite tough, I was expecting something more melt-in-yuor-mouth texture. The eggs were a bit overcooked. The bread was warm and buttered and was very good. The chipotle sauce was also very good. The mango brunoise was not ripe enough and also the avocado not very good quality. All the different component, by themselves, were nothing special. So I tried to put everything together on the bread and that was quite good! The dish cost 20€ and it is totally worth it because you really have a lot to eat. A very big portion of pork, 2 eggs, 3 pieces of bread, avocado, mango salad and the sauce so, if you are hungry go for it. I ate this at noon and I have been filled and fulled until 8 in the evening and I walked around Amsterdam all day! On the contrary, if you know you want to eat a dessert or something else during the day then it will be too much. The service was friendly and kind, just a bit annoyed by the chef who was talking too loudly and he looked quite pissed off which is not nice to see as a costumer. And which also made me think I came in a bad day. The place is nice and cozy, they also have a cute terrace outside and a big table in the back in a sort of closed veranda. Inside was a bit dark and quite hot, lots of fans but not much of a change. I don't live in Amsterdam so when I will come back to the city I will probably not come here and try somewhere else but if I lived in Amsterdam I would definitely come often and try something else form the menu. The Eggs Benedict and B&R...
Read more1 vegan, 3 meat eaters, all of us were greatly satisfied. More than satisfied. I think this was my favorite vegan breakfast in Amsterdam. Everyone's dish was a work of art, visually and taste wise. I don't love mushrooms, but I did in the vegan brekkie. The tofu scramble was also the best tofu scramble I had on this holiday/vacation. The dip had a spicy bite and sweetness to it, so I used on everything. The potatoes were my favorite part. My partner's poached eggs were perfect, and he knows his poached eggs, the Yoke was thick and delicious, perfectly cooked, it became a gravy for everything. My partner and I got oat milk lattes that were beautiful and delightful. Our other guests got the waffles, which they kept bragging about, and the brekkie, which was devoured and raved about. They also got 2 kahlúa lattes they enjoyed thoroughly. The waiter was dressed in shorts and a tshirt, which amused us. He said that summer is almost here (in February). We appreciated that take on life. The entire staff seemed like a team, taking care of everyone in the restaurant. I would certainly recommend this place for a group of mixed diets. They also appeared to have some sort of garden in the back, that we will have to come back to experience. We better get planning another...
Read moreHaven’t been here in a minute. Is it still good? Mwuah……waited 45 minutes because we still had the sensation of last time in the back of our minds. Was it worth it? No! Meanwhile Amsterdam has filled up with places that are, dare we say, better. Was the food good, sure. But not as sensational as it used to be. We opted for the BR brekkie. Eggs and style on toast, with a (tiny) side of avocado and a mini stack of blueberry pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. The toast, was toasted ever so lightly. Drizzled with some oil, we think. We opted for poached egg. These are not originally poached eggs, the look like the kind that are made in some speedy way-wrapped in something then poached??? Anyway, nothing special. The side of avocado was literally 3 slices of the tiniest avocado. The stack of pancakes was suppose to be the highlight, but unfortunately inspired this review. Too sweet, too soggy, too much tasting like an off the shelve type of synthetic pancake mix. It was super disappointing. :-( Maybe someday it’ll be good again. The service, as usual, was great. Food, I wanted to give it a 2 but after some deliberation we had to go for a tiny 3. Total price for our brunch, including juices and coffee was about 65 euro. Pretty steep for...
