Wissenkerke-Sloterdijk — Restaurant in Amsterdam

We came there for breakfast because of a coupon for free pancakes with ice cream from our hotel. We wanted to order two breakfast bowls and the pancakes. The waiter said, he had no more avocado for the bowls. I told him it’s not a problem, he would be free to substitute it with something else. Then we came to the free pancakes. Since it was breakfast time, we asked if it would be possible to substitute the ice cream with something else. “No, it isn’t. A dish comes at itself” was the answer. Ok, we obviously don’t want the big arrangement with fruits and coconut yogurt for free. Couldn’t you just substitute the ice cream with some syrup? We would pay for the difference (which sounds quite ridiculous right now). Still it wasn’t possible, because a dish comes as itself. If you change something, it’s another dish (so what about my breakfast bowl with something to substitute the avocado, you don’t have anymore?!)

No dish had to come....

Ordered the breakfast platter, but didn't consume any of it, except the coffee and orange juice, which seemed to be the only fresh things in the building. The cheese was dried, the sausage and bacon were cold and covered in congealed fat, When asked for an egg that wasn't boiled black or cold, I received a new one, which had the same issues. In the end, I didn't have to pay for anything, as I had not eaten anything. However, my friend who got the same platter with the same problems, was charged full price. He did not complain as much as I did, but he also didn't eat anything. The service is this place's only saving grace, as the waitress was very understanding and apologetic. Update on my last review: Went on the following morning and had the same breakfast. Person serving us didn't seem happy or interested in serving us but oh well still enjoyed before. Total came to around 29 euros. Didn't want the change so asked if they had a tip jar or such. Proceeded to sarcasticaly say "wooo, I can quit my job and live off of this now" laughing along with the other server.
