It was bad -really, really bad! I thought long and hard about posting this review, but decided that people should know what to expect.||||I stayed here for a week during the busiest time of the year in Hamilton (Fieldays). I made the booking based on numerous good reviews, but having experienced it, I honestly do not know how anyone would rate this motel anything more than a one. If it hadn't been that the whole town was booked out during that week, I definitely would have left immediately when I saw the place ||||The room was large, with 2 beds, a table and couple of chairs. It had absolutely no (zero) cabinets/shelves/cupboard space - none in the bedroom area so nowhere to hang clothes - none in the kitchenette, so only minimal sink space to make a drink (there are no cooking facilities either BTW) and none in the bathroom, so nowhere to keep toiletries or clean clothes. The bathroom boasted a (non heated) towel rail located at least 2 meters away from the shower. And some half used body wash (!).||||To say the place is old and tired, is a vast understatement. I have attached a few pics of the bathroom for reference. Cleanliness is applied in the most visible spaces only (refer the pics again). Although someone entered the room daily to remake the bed and drop some towels, they never did any cleaning (none whatsoever, not even emptied the bin).||||The bed is probably the most uncomfortable bed I have ever encountered with springs pushing through the lining around the edges. Although there was a heat pump in the room, the battery for the remote gave up on the second day. I replaced it since the room was very damp otherwise (see the pic of the crying window? that was on the inside of the window) and with the temperature outside at less than 10degrees, it was intolerable otherwise. There was a TV, but it only worked intermittently (cuts out every half hour or so) and also the wifi did not work, so I had to hotspot from my phone to watch anything when it was working.||||The kitchenette had a kettle, microwave and small fridge. Everything looked like it came from a 1970s garage sale. A few mismatched bowls and cups rounded out the kitchen space - but no teaspoons so had to stir my drinks with the dessert spoon. Oh, I had to get my own milk, tea and sugar. No supplies in the room.||||The final straw was being randomly yelled at by another guest in the parking area when their domestic disagreement spilled outside. They were also yelling at the motel staff and the police had to be called it got so bad.||||To add insult to injury, all of this cost more than $220 per night. A total rip off.||||Why did I not leave immediately? Because was Fieldays was in full swing and all of Hamilton and surrounds were fully booked and I had to stay close to Mistry Creek for the early mornings and traffic queues.||||The only redeeming features were the friendly person at reception and a daily drop of clean towels (which was actually necessary given the constant wet weather and no heated...
Read moreWhen I first laid eyes on the building, the word "rundown" popped into my head—but honestly, that feels like a compliment. The place was wearing a slimy green coat of mould like it was trying to blend in with a swamp. Maintenance? Never heard of her.||I stepped into reception and was greeted by some very friendly staff—which was lovely until I received a second, less pleasant welcome… from the unmistakable stench of body odour. It hit me like a freight train. I genuinely considered running out to buy the receptionist a stick of Rexona. That’s not shade—that’s a public service suggestion.||Room for Improvement (and Fresh Air)|The room itself was a decent size and looked clean on the surface. But then the smell crept in. Musty, unventilated, and... something else I couldn’t quite place. Like the ghost of damp towels past. When I returned later from a work event, the scent had intensified to "should-I-sleep-in-my-car" levels. I toughed it out—but just barely.||The Bed Was Comfy, But...|I wanted to enjoy the bed. It was probably the one highlight. But sadly, trying to relax while gagging is not a skill I’ve mastered. The smell made sure I started my day dry-heaving like I was training for a vomit marathon.||Shower Time (a.k.a. A Mild Drizzle)|I wrapped things up with a quick shower, which was so underwhelming it may have been powered by gravity and hope alone. Low pressure, low satisfaction.||Hot Tips for a Cooler Stay:||Deodorant. Please. Like, seriously.||Clean the room with actual cleaning products—not just a spritz of "Eau de Desperation."||Invest in a decent shower head. It’s cheaper than losing customers.||Sorry to leave a bad review—it’s not my style. But y’all, this was rough. With a few basic improvements, this place could go from "biohazard" to...

The room did smell and wasn't the cleanest but for the price was reasonable.|Went back to stay as its cheap, however the guy was rude and power tripping, I had emailed asking questions about the bond and a spa room. He told I hadn't booked a Spa room when I had the confirmation on email, yes I will own my part and had mucked up my phone number when booking, totally own that however I never received any email prior to the guy going on about my number, and then say he had emailed me, which I didnt have and prefer as its a paper trail especially when situations like this happen, So because my phone number was wrong and he didnt email, the guy blamed me, and said you can go somewhere else.....so we did, then he tried to charge me for it, its not a cancellation when you havent replied back to emails or you tell me to go somewhere else, because he was in the wrong. Man I was happy about was being able to stop the transaction for him to take the money out of my account, Not to mention a $400. Bond to my mind Motels should not be charging bonds if your rooms are not clean.....which by law your not providing the service you say you are, the whole complex is not clean, even the outside, whoever runs this place has no pride in how they present their establishment and think its ok to provide crap service and unaccountability. If you want cheap, dirty a place to lay your head this is your place. I can tell you now we left that place cleaner that what we...
