Manhattan Lodge Motel — Hotel in Hamilton

Good points: Clean interior , convenient location- walking distance to eateries, chemist, bakery, bank etc, short drive to university campus, and city centre, full kitchen albeit cramped, good wifi connection and free. We appreciated the electric fan.||Not so good aspects: Drab (but clean) interior, outside surroundings quite unkempt and untidy, parking is tricky at times as the spaces are not numbered to match units - no guarantee that you’ll be able to park in front of your unit, to get out you had to reverse and manoeuvre your vehicle out of the limited space between the row of cars of cars belonging to other guests, and the front of row of units. Water pressure in the shower very low. Cigarette smoke from guests sitting outside their units smoking, wafts into...

This motel is so clean, great price with very good service. My room had a full kitchen at the end of the lounge.There is a diary next door for my ice cream fix that also has ingredients for making yourself a meal. And a great licensed Turkish and other restaurants a couple of blocks away. The furnishings are very retro, but as I said it is very clean. Free WiFi, electric blanket on the main bed in the bedroom. I was pleasantly surprised how well done this inexpensive (cheap) motel was for me.Small fridge, milk, soap, shampoo, good towels, curtains on all of the many windows. Lovely manager, close to Hamilton Gardens, and on a road with many other services. Instant coffee, tea, and sugar are provided as well as bar soap and shampoo for the shower. The water pressure is quite low, but it was enough to get washed. The wifi was good, though on my first day there, it had problems and had to be reset. The yard is a bit run down, but it's not like you have to spend time there, unless you want to sit outside the room at the table and chairs provided and stare at the adjacent fence.
