The girl on the phone re Order/ who served us at the counter upon our arrival - was lovely. We waited for over an hour for our Burgers - we were assured they'd be ready by the time we arrived. NB: Several other people were waiting before we'd arrived - more once we were there (once we'd arrived I over heard a girl say she was over waiting 40mins for her Burger).. At peak hour - the guys in the kitchen were working at snails pace; they seemed unbelievably like it was all their first day prepping food ever - fumbling around, looking like possums in the headlights... Their pass is extremely close to the counter - both the girl at the counter & the guys in the kitchen consistently smacked things off the pass.. The pass is shockingly narrow - the guys in the kitchen, when attempting to put the prepped food on it, the containers and plates were pushed off.. plates crashing off the pass, Burgers in their boxes, boxes prepped to put the Burgers in would be pushed off including the phone; it was embarrassing. Some work on that needs to happen fast. *The Burgers smelled good however, when opening the box for the Gone Fishing Burger - it wasn't properly cooked & was really 'fishy', it stunk.. (fresh fish doesn't have that smell). The Burgers seemed as though they were slopped together.. overcooked chicken in one Burger & the beef pattie in the other Burger was overcooked as well - no love was put into preparing these Burgers! *Giving 3 stars is generous, it was our initial selection... we give 2 stars instead. This was the first time we'd eaten Gone Burger's food (it's now the last), to be frank, we were disappointed. Being Foodies & having high expectations on food we buy when eating out, isn't the problem; the problem is not getting exceptional food you 'think' you're going to get.. nor bang for your buck. *To get decent Burgers, for us now means travelling all the way to Ralph's Eatery in Auckland or Tuckers in Tirau, more regularly - it's worth the cost of petrol & spending a bit more on the product because we know the food is...
Read moreI had such a fantastic experience at Gone Burger! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and friendly service that instantly made me feel welcome. The menu has such a great range of options, and it was clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating something for everyone. I ordered a little bit of everything as I was here with my family, and the burgers were absolutely delicious — juicy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavour. The ingredients tasted really fresh, and the balance between the meat, toppings, and sauces was spot on. The fries were crispy and golden, and the portion size was generous without being over the top. What really stood out for me was the atmosphere. It’s relaxed and inviting, making it the perfect place to catch up with friends or enjoy a casual night out. Everything came out quickly, and the staff checked in to make sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, Gone Burger has definitely become one of my favourite burger spots. It’s clear they take pride in their food and customer service, and it really shows. I’ll definitely be coming back! Thank you Gone Burger...
Read morePretty pricey for poor service, a watery tofu slush pattie , burger that was layered so that the wet ingredients were at the top and dry at the bottom, the bun just fell apart as I was eating it. Staff were nice and friendly but seemed not to have a clue what was going on a lot of the time. A lot of looking around at each other confused as people waited to be served. Payment was unnecessarily difficult with slow machines, orders were not prioritised right and we waited 20 mins for fries. Some orders came out in takeaway bags when we were eating in. A lot of progress can be made at this fancy fast food place, it has a lot of potential and I say all this because I want to help you guys improve. A firm tofu pattie would be dope, perhaps even a battered and fried one. Layer em how you would like to eat them and invest in some good quality buns and crisp them slightly in the oven before serving. Sides were all good too, but when ordering in just make sure to use sauce dishes instead of plastic, as people often eat in these days to avoid plastic. Good luck, wishing you...
