Babaganush Turkish Restaurant & Café - Our Absolute Favourite Place!

My boyfriend and I have been visiting Babaganush Turkish Restaurant & Café (formerly Kapadokya) ever since it opened in its new location. Honestly, it has become our absolute favourite spot in Hamilton. Every time we go, we are blown away all over again by how beautiful, welcoming, and amazing this place truly is.

The atmosphere is stunning, the décor, lighting, and little details create such a warm and authentic vibe that makes you feel at home. It’s the kind of restaurant where you can sit back, relax, and just soak in the beauty around you while enjoying incredible food.

Speaking of food… every single dish we’ve tried has been outstanding. The chicken shish is always perfectly grilled and full of flavour, the schnitzel is crispy and comforting, and every plate comes with fresh, colourful salads that balance everything out so well. Portions are generous, filling, and always leave us satisfied. We’ve even topped our meals with dessert, and it’s just the perfect finishing touch.

We love this place so much that we keep going back; it’s not just a one-time visit kind of restaurant, it stays with you and makes you excited to return. The staff are always so kind and attentive, making the whole experience even more special.

If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Turkish food in a stunning setting with exceptional service, Babaganush is the place to be. It’s become such a special spot for us, and we can’t wait for all the memories we’ll keep...

So they've been in business ~10 years and even though I've had business right across the street, this foodie only noticed them this past weekend. Perhaps they could use better signage? Anyway, glad I discovered them at last. On Saturday I had a takeaway chicken and date tajine. It was a little disappointing, needed a bit more flavour. Lots of almonds, which I love, but perhaps they should be toasted as they didn't taste of anything. Not many dates. A healthy meal, though, with a nice salad. Went back for a proper sit-down meal the next night and shared the Sultan's Platter with my friend. This was much better! There was a generous sample of every dip they do and all were great--normally, I don't even like babaganoush! Staff very nice and didn't bat an eye when I asked them to combine three...

I ordered a kebab expecting it to be made with traditional flatbread or pita bread, as is customary for a Turkish kebab. However, the kebab was served in a flour tortilla wrap, which felt cheap and completely inauthentic.

When I raised this issue with your staff, I was met with aggression and rudeness rather than a constructive response.

** I’ve attached the conversation from Messenger to clarify the situation. At no point did I mention the taste of the food—I specifically pointed out that I’m happy to return the order and request a refund because a flour wrap is NOT Turkish!

It’s clear that you’re using cheap ingredients, and my issue wasn’t even about debating the refund. Please stop making excuses and simply acknowledge that you are using low-quality flour wraps instead of authentic...
