We had a girls trip to Rotorua this weekend just gone. The owners were very patient and understanding with us checking in very late as we had troubles leaving Auckland. They waited up for us as we arrived very late, only to arrive and find out the lovely Man had upgraded our room we had booked to a much bigger room. Thank you so much! Our stay was amazing, we definitely loved the mineral pools which is beautifully set up! The hot pools are also great for the late night dip or early morning dip! Such a family friendly place offering a small kids playground, plenty of laundry facilities and lots of carpark. They were so great to deal with, we had only booked one night but because we enjoyed our stay we decided to book the room again which thankfully was available for us. Our room was very spacious, very clean, beds were so comfortable and warm. Bathroom also has a beautiful huge mirror which has its own light. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As you can tell, while we were there pretty much the whole motel was packed. Lovely owners we will be back again to stay with you real soon!!

It was what you would expect for an old establishment but in saying that it did the job and the pool was a highlight being able to enjoy a swim in the winter months. Smaller pools felt a little less appealing and the interior could be improved on to make it more inviting. Great shower pressure comfortable beds but the sheer curtains in the bedroom are shredded and are in urgent need of replacing, also strange having curtains under the sheers which made it difficult to draw the curtains I couldn’t quite understand the reasoning behind this. Nice gesture receiving chocolates on check in and the breakfast was substantial.

Let me begin with positives, the location is centrally located and the host is extremely hospitable. The warm swimming pool and thermally heated private pools is a huge plus point. The bed is cozy and the view in room 27 is beautiful. Few suggestions the motel needs improvement on: 1- The room heater does not do justice to keep the room warm 2- WiFi doesn’t have a great connectivity (would be a bummer for business travellers) 3- Water Taps are old fashioned which jams during winter, making it tough to close it. 4- Old fashioned frying pan needs to go and non-stick pans should be replaced :)

A major disappointment... It's pretty tough to write this review but after speaking to friends and family we were advised we really should. Booked in November we were late off the mark and accepted the $1600 for 3 nights for two adults and two kids to the premium 2 bedroom motel. When we arrived it was two hours early than check in but our room was ready. We picked up the key and as soon as we walked in, we noticed the bathroom was not clean from previous occupants. Sausages left in the freezer and opened milk remained in the fridge. Damage to walls showed plastering but not painted in several locations... bedrooms and the main sitting lounge. The worst was yet to come... Hair blocked the shower drain and there was water built up each time we had a shower. At night, we heard this ever increasing vibrating from thd pipes in the wall which woke our kids and us. Honestly it was simply awful. If I read this review I'd be of the opinion they are hard to please but honestly we are very tolerant and respectful. It was honestly awful... We know from booking we were buggered because there was no where that had two rooms available and to a standard we thought we were getting!

Room service was putting towels at the door and changing the rubbish. No cleaning or making up of the room. Considering $530 Per night...

No matter what feedback we receive... cleanliness is not something that should ever have to be requested.

We moved onto Napier and the standards of a similar complex of a 4 star rating where significantly more improved.

If we sought positives it would be the outdoor pool, the parking and on-site park. After this... it's all downhill.

We are honestly scarred by this experience and if you are considering staying here, you will find much better for the money we paid... Never...

Have been staying at Cleveland for five years now and it's so wonderful that Mylene is back in charge. Any damages did by the previous manager and her team will be long forgotten ( see one star reviews) and will never happen on her watch. From being greeted with a warm smile and polite conversation about my journey, to receiving my room with complimentary chocolate and having full use of the facilities, the stay is always a relaxing and pleasant experience. The outdoor heated pool is a fantastic way to start and end the day, especially after adventuring around town and in the Redwood forest. The private mineral pools have also been a major draw card too. I've stayed in both studio and one bedroom apartments and they have always been warm and cosy, especially with the radiator heaters in there. It's a wonderful place to bring the family and even though it's near a main road the noise isn't really noticeable. Handy to all the amenities you need, fruit and veggie, bakery and takeaways straight across the road, you won't be left wanting. If there's ever a concern, the team there is only too happy to listen to you and find a resolve. The owner is always looking to improve and invest in this great place and it's been great to see the changes over the years, only making Cleveland more feel like a home away from home. Thanks again Mylene, you've always been a pleasure...

First stay here and it's the first time I have stayed at an accommodation with THE BEST beds. I noticed the detail in their bedding and linen also, and I loved the sleep so much I will be purchasing my own NEW bed and bedding exactly the same. Also, we stayed in room 5 which had ample space and loads of beds, didn't need them all ( family of 4 ) but it would suit a respectful group of 12 if it's a short stay. I appreciated the close car Park ( didn't need to lug my bags around, like we need to when we go to hotel stays ) I appreciated the thermal pool, it's says up to 35 degrees, but i feel like maybe 38 degrees which is GREAT. the thermal pools were even hotter one of them slightly cooler than the other if you don't like too hot. Lastly, I love the location. Not right in town, just right. Small, calming and quaint, with detail of luxury in the furnishings. I have stayed many places there this is one of the tops. Just one small feedback would be the noisey HRV system, which may only be in room 5, however with that, I sleep with a fan on so that's calming Whitenoise to me and I love it. Really warm and dry room too, I would expect that though being ontop of a thermal field. Thank you for the...
