Fiona Withers-Barber and her husband are highly likely racist. I worked for them for no more than a week as an Au Pair. Before accepting the job I was told I would be taught how to use the second car (manual) so that I could get around on my free time as they were located further away from the town. As soon as I arrived they changed their minds with no explanation other than they don’t feel comfortable (all of a sudden after seeing me..imagine that) and told me I could use their bike. Then when I was ready to use their bike they said there was an issue with their bike and would not get it fixed. They tried to entrap me in their house while trying to stop me from having a social life outside of working hours even though I provided them with enough notice. Furthermore, the husband tried to treat me as if I were a slave trying to convince me to do work beyond the scope of what I was hired for (pressing their laundry and farm work). I guess I really did have enough common sense to get far away from them and find a PHENOMENAL job shortly after and continued my travels across many countries. I believe in universal karma. I just completed my Master’s degree and for free from a very prestigious school. I definitely wouldn’t recommend working for these people in any capacity or supporting their establishment. I tried the food and was not impressed.

Updated: First of all, if YOU had some “common sense” you’d know that any reasonable person who doesn’t want to be harassed for writing a negative review would want to remain anonymous.

Everything I said was factual and you know it. I find it inappropriate that you blatantly lie and deny. I don’t need to tell lies unlike you, as I have documented proof of the claims I’ve made. You are not good people plain and simple. You most certainly have either conscious or unconscious bias towards other races by your actions. I am doing wonderful things with my life actually. As I said I found a once in a lifetime job while I was there after I left the horrible job with you and your toxic family. I travel the world, finished a MASTER’S degree from one of the most top notch schools in the world; and with straight A’s all under 30 years of age ;). It says it all that, rather than take criticism and accept someone’s perspective of mistreatment and provide an apology for it, you deflect and deny when I have plenty of proof. The only reason why I bothered doing a review now is to show exactly the type of treatment you serve to people and for possible future publication for a book. Enjoy what sad life you have ! I will not be responding any further as your inability to take accountability is non existent and...

We went for lunch on 21 Nov, placed our order and paid for it. We got our drinks within the first 10 minutes. Finished our drinks and then we waited for our meals, 35 minutes later we asked the waitress how long our order will take and she said 30 minutes, we told her we've been waiting for more than 30 minutes. Off she went n she never bothered checking with the kitchen. 45 minutes later we were getting more hungry and disappointed, the owner passed by serving a table next to us who came after us and we asked her if our order was being cooked or we are just sitting wasting our time waiting for nothing. She went n checked and she said our order had not been passed to the kitchen. Shock on us!! Other customers who came in at the same time with us and those who arrived later and sat next to our table had finished their meals. They felt sorry for us and they told us it is unacceptable for a customer to go through such. Yes we knew the feeling especially when you are hungry. It was not our first time visiting, we've been here more than 5 times but this one incident and the way the owner and her waitress treated us we couldn't stomach much of it. Watch this space coz pride comes before fall... we asked for our refund and went to another restaurant where we were served within 15 minutes.. If there was a zero star on ratings.. that's what i could have rated them lucky they even got 1 star coz they did...

Went here the other day standards definitely dropped. Waited for ages at front counter to be served wasn't even acknowledged by the lady at the till. Finally was served only ordered cabnet food which only need to be toasted and muffin heated. Waited about 40 minutes which was way too long for food to be heated up. Asked a lady who was clearing tables " u don't know how much longer our food is going to be, she didn't stop to answer just said " neither do I" she was very rude and snarky comment. Couldn't even give us the time of day. We then went up to ask where our food is the guy started to then get it on plates and take to get heated up,by this time we had nearly finished our coffee which did taste nice but would of been better to have with food. The sugar glass that holds the sugar sachays was dirty and gross we left in on the table for staff to clean all the grime off. Food was nothing spectacular , but after such rude treatment from that one lady we definitely won't be back was not an enjoyable...
