I am writing to express both my appreciation and concern following our recent stay at your holiday parks.
Throughout our trip, we have consistently chosen to stay with Tasman Holiday Parks – from Coromandel to Papamoa, and then Rotorua – and up until June 1st, our experience had been overwhelmingly positive. The service was excellent, and every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and professional.
However, we were quite disappointed by the interaction we had with one staff member at the Rotorua park on June 1st, between approximately 5:00 and 6:00 pm. During our conversation, she made it seem as though her responsibilities – which we believe are part of her job – were somehow a personal choice or favor, rather than a standard part of guest service. Her tone came across as impatient and dismissive, which was surprising given the high level of service we had received at other locations and from other staff at Rotorua.
We fully understand that working in hospitality can be challenging at times, but we believe that professionalism and respect should always be maintained. This particular interaction unfortunately cast a shadow over what had otherwise been a wonderful experience.
We would like to thank the rest of your team for their outstanding work and hospitality, and we hope that this feedback will help ensure every guest receives the consistently high standard of service that Tasman Holiday Parks...
Read moreWe were blown away by this campsite. Not only did they have a bouncy trampoline that my partner loved (age 36), but they had a mineral hot tub that was open until quite late. The pool closes around 6pm, but the tub is open until well after sunset (if it closes at all). We were super happy to be able to access that for free, especially given how popular hot spring are in Rotorua.
The water pressure and heat from the showers was so lovely. We didn't have a press a button on the outside to access water, but tried to be mindful of how long we were showering for.
The area was central and things were quite accessible. We were just a short walk away from a large park that had foot baths and hot pools. It was also only a 20 min walk to get to the main eating area.
The receptionist at the front was very helpful in advising on our tourist plans. By this I mean she didn't try and sell me on things we didn't need because we had already planned them. We told her we booked White Water Rafting elsewhere, and she mentioned that they have the largest waterfall drop in the North Islands, but it wouldn't be worth it if we had already planned to go elsewhere. I also asked whether we could see geysers, but once she heard we were already going on a guide walk in the area, she told us that that walk included geysers anyways. It was nice to have someone so...
Read moreOVERPRISED and RUN DOWN! While reasonably close to town the location is not suitable for a relaxing stay. The Holiday Park is on a big intersection with a 4 lane main traffic route through Rotorua. Kids woke up thinking there has been a big earthquake which were essentially trunks going past and left the foundation shaking. HOT THERMAL POOLS NOT IN OPERATION, apparently due to maintenance BUT reading the reviews they have been out of order for over a month. We have never been informed about this until check in. Cheeky! This was why we have booked the park initially, in order to have some spa experience on site. They knew, but still won’t inform you via email before the cancellation fee applies. A shame. We got offered vouchers for the Polynesian Spa, which is some sort of compensation but surely doesn’t reflect the on site experience we were hoping for. Polynesian Spa had long waiting times due to school holidays. Unit was clean but old with no proper lighting to read at nighttime. Barely plugs for devices, fridge very loud, TV and mattresses were new though. Will never stay again. 4 star Novotel has much cheaper rooms if booked ahead. Hoping they will be contacting us...
