ASURE Rotorua International Motor Inn — Hotel in North Island

Pros.||Obliging receptionist, good bed & breakfast.||Cons.|| (1) One bedside table was broken & unusable. I reported this to reception & a replacement non matching table was produced reasonably quickly.||(2) Shortly afterwards my wife tried to wash some dishes & said that there was no hot water. I had started to fill the hot tub at this stage hoping for early use|I again had to go to reception & eventually someone arrived to check the fuse box & restore hot water. We wasted time waiting for the repair & could not use the hot tub until after dinner.||(3) Later that night we found a raised edge of carpet along the carpet to tile trim. When I tried to flatten this, I felt sharp nails sticking up through the carpet. Only luck prevented a pre-discovery trip or pierced bare feet.|This was reported to reception the next morning.||(4) My wife found the shower head hanging in the bath tub & remounted it on the wall rail. When she opened the taps, water jetted over her head, across the length of the bath, hitting the back wall & flooding the floor. I found that the rose bracket was bolted in place, making it impossible to alter the water flow angle. |The bottom of the shower rail had been wrenched from the wall, with a large sharp screw only centimetres from the mixer control. The top of the rail which slid into another fixture, was only held in place by friction & could have fallen out at any time.|Before resorting to hand held showers, one of our towels had to be used to cover the extremely slippery dangerous tiles.|This was reported to reception the next morning.||(5) There were long black hairs on the bath tub & floor. This should have been reported but I forgot to do so.||(6) We booked breakfast inclusive accommodation directly by phone, but were not aware of any preorder requirement. We arrived at the restaurant at 8am to be told we had not paid for breakfast & would have to check with reception. I had to wait until 8.30am to do this & was again told that no breakfast was included. | After getting reception to double check, this was corrected but we wasted one hour of our day waiting for the meal.||(7) Car park numbers had been painted over but still visible. I parked outside our unit, but every time I moved my car, others had taken my spot. Upon returning from dinner, there were no spaces at all & I had to resort to parking on the street.||(8) On checkout, I asked for some reimbursement. After returning home, I found a request for a favourable review, an 11% discount on my credit card statement & an unpaid invoice for the same amount! ||No, we will not...

An absolute dream!

I'm gonna write a story... This was the only place my family of 8 could afford to book at such short notice (literally the night before). Though pictures showed an outstanding display of the rooms, I wasn't expecting much, especially in terms of there being a sofa bed as a sleeping option. But the whole place exceeded my expectations, from the excellent communication (I asked to check in sooner as well as possibly having rooms close together and got an immediate response), the above-and-beyond customer service (especially by the manager), and even the most friendly and welcoming staff and cleaners. We booked 3 rooms for one night, but ended up staying for 2 because of how comfortable and excited my family were about having a space for everyone, AND our rooms were neighbours, which was a bonus. We had a spa (that I didn't know about) in each room, as well as there being a communal laundry room (which was an added bonus because most of us only took one day's worth of clothing). We couldn't keep our same rooms when we decided to stay another night, but the lovely staff and manager went above and beyond to eventually get us two rooms that were neighbours again. The beds, the couch and even the sofa bed was super comfy, and my family and I loved the layout of the rooms. I left something in one of the previous rooms we booked, and the staff were just so helpful in finding it. The Inn itself was central to the activities we planned for the weekend (something I didn't plan) and I was super grateful for the convenience. The team really looked after me and my family, and I'd love to stay again! Thank you so much...

Rooms are small but with living room and two toilets I couldn't ask for more. They had a spa bath out side. Basic kitchenette. Two things that I have notice that I didn't give 5 star for them are the day we went there wasn't a busy day. They told us it is not bust as always. And looking at the parking we can see how many cars are parked. But they gave us a room right infront where they keep the garbage bins. It wasn't pleasant at all. We could have asked for another room but after a long drive we didn't bother at all. We stayed there for two days. So the morning cleaning lady came at approximately 9am and knocked at the door asked us whether we need a clean. We told them we will be out by 10am afterwards she can come and clean. While we were rushing to go out she came in 5min to 10am and started cleaning. She could have come after we left. Because we didn't come to our room until late night. So if anyone staying here. Look into these things. And talk to the lovely lady in the front desk. We asked for a bin for the toilet/bathroom as there was no bins. So she brought us one. No milk left for the second day.
