Pukekura Motor Lodge — Hotel in North Island

A wonderful place to stay in New Plymouth. We stayed 4 nights in a 2 bedroom unit. The unit was spacious and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The unit was near the back of the property so very quiet (apart from a large group who were outside on a hot night making noise til after 1am on our first night). The housekeeping staff are all very professional in appearance and manner. They are friendly, they did more than at most motels each day and were such a lovely presence around the complex. The owners were away and the complex was being managed by the head housekeeper. She was an incredible woman, working in the office and helping with the housekeeping from 7am til 9pm daily. A tough job which she did with great professionalism and friendliness, nothing was too much trouble. Our stay was made richer by her being there and being on top of every thing in a fully booked out week during Festival of the Lights. What an asset she is to the business. It was extremely hot during the time we were there, the staff worked hard under extreme pressure due to heat and being so busy with many 1 night bookings for the lights. I was grateful for there being shade blinds, blockout blinds and drapes in the unit which meant we could keep it cool while we were away and dark at night (I hate motels with roller blinds only as so much light comes in around the blinds). Firstly the video and photos were taken just before we left so please excuse the unmade beds and towels in the bathroom lol Pukekura Motor Lodge is a very modern clean and in a handy location to most things in New Plymouth. Greeted by the manager when we arrived and went through the usual process which was very pleasant. The two bedroom studio was amazing and very clean and it felt like home, the kids absolutely loved it. The full sized kitchen was a plus but since we only stayed one night we didn't use it but it had everything you needed to cook a meal it even had glad wrap lol The only negative and it didn't really affect us staying was the small tvs in the bedrooms. We will definitely look at staying again if we needed to visit New Plymouth again. 5 Stars from the Family good work Pukekura...

Signage made property easy to find. Property immaculately presented inside and out. Checkin very easy, well dressed host pleasure to deal with. Room was spotless and provided everything travellers would require. VERY tiny,teeny weeny thing- no instructions on how to use the TV! If you dont have Sky at home, and given 2 remotes , very confusing. I strongly believe that host would have solved this issue if I had asked and if I hadnt been so tired, I would have asked him. But this in NO way would stop me returning or recommending this motel to fellow travellers. 5 out...
