The Teahouse — Restaurant in North Island

Incredibly rude service from who I believe was the owner. Everything was going OK until while we were already eating our food the owner brought over another meal. We said we hadn't ordered it and she took it away. She returned a few minutes later and said she was sure we had ordered it, we politely told her again that we hadn't. She came back a 3rd time 5 minutes after and told us that just for the record we had definitely ordered it and she was very annoyed with us for wasting her time and ingredients. I don't know how much clearer we could have been, and it wasn't even something we had contemplated ordering, on top of that she was accusing us while we were all eating the correct dishes we had ordered and paid for! When she started getting aggravated the last time we told her to kick rocks and left. Very unpleasant experience all round, and the food wasn't even that great anyway. Not...

Even though they were busy and the table we sat at was dirty, the staff were extremely friendly and apologetic. The food was exceptional, all my boys (fussy eaters) finished every last crumb. We later went back to treat ourselves to one of their delicious ice creams, the young lady serving us recognized me from earlier and said that to thank me for my patience and friendliness earlier in the day that the ice creams were free of charge. That lady didn't realise but I hadn't been feeling the best recently, so she absolutely blew me away with her kindness and generosity and I was almost brought to tears (happy tears to see that there is still some kindness in this world). Thank you to the lovely young lady whose name I did not get.... you truly made my day (and the ice creams were well enjoyed by both of my boys and I). Highly recommend this wee place...

Was welcomed both times and with genuine smiles.

Food is fantastic, the hash browns are unique and quality.

If your a big hungry bloke, this meal is just for you.

They love dogs at this site.

Having brunch while watching dog walkers and mums with kids walk by. The waterfall sounds in the background.

Even in a light shower I was able to.keep dry under the big outdoor umbrellas.

I've relocated here from wgtn city and this will be my go.to venue to bring vip guests.

This is nicer than getting a coffee and scone on the beach.

Very comfy, warm and clean inside..

The owners and staff are doing a great job at showing hospitality.

During summer this place goes off.. Even have a ice cream hole...
