Hogwartz — Hotel in South Island

I have stayed 3 different weekends at Hogwarz in three of their individual units, -each of the two Stables, and also the Coach House.|The accommodation is all spotlessly clean, well heated in winter, and well equipped. -There is even a choice between coffee plunger or percolator!|The Stables are spacious studios, each having stylish exposed brick walls, ensuite shower rooms, kitchenettes, and private parking.|Both have a double bed (or were theyv queens, I can't remember) and one has an extra single.|There is a communicating door that can be unlocked so they can be combined to sleep a family of 5.|The Coach House is more of a complete apartment, -we stayed upstairs with a double bedroom, full kitchen-dining room, bathroom and toilet.|I believe downstairs with a double bedroom with ensuite can be added to make a 2 bedroomed house. It also has private parking for 1 or maybe 2 cars.|Beds are firm, linen is crisp and clean.|The area is on a hill, but not an excessive hike up from the city.|Walking distance to Speights Brewery -and of course very close to the Cathedral.|The owners are friendly and accessible.|This has become my favourite short term accommodation...

WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY!!!

This was by far one of my favorites hostels to stay at while being in NZ for a year!! To say its comfy and cozy is a complete understatement.

First off they have designed the interior to be "Hogwartz" style with all kinds of references to the move if you're into that kind of thing. I don't want to give too much away but lets just say one of the showers is labeled, "Show 9 3/4". EPIC.

Beyond that the kitchen is huge with lots of room. Lots of pots and pans to use if you need it and its definitely nicer than most I've seen. The common room is TOTALLY awesome! It has a loft and plenty chairs to sit near the fireplace and read a book if that suits your fancy.

Also downtown Dunedin is only a 10 min walk away (downhill) and there are lots of things to see. Dunedin was also one of my favorite towns I visited while in NZ. Very pretty.

If I ever travel to NZ again I am making a point to stay here again. Can't...

Had two nights in this wonderful hostel! Felt like home with the friendly staff, clean and tidy kitchen! I have to repeat what others said: One of the few hostels with sharp knives.

The double room was freaking nice! Top notch view on the cathedral, even had an elevated part in the room with a cool couch on it. Felt like a hotel room!

Showers and toilets must have been renovated recently because they felt like new!

The laundry service is great too, washed, dried and folded laundry on the bed for cheap money! Thanks for the service!

I missed the Harry Potter theme a little besides of the location and the room 9 3/4. Maybe some decoration and some kind of events once a week? I'm thinking butterbeer mixing night or some kind of card magic tricks with the guests. ;)
