Hmm. Where do I begin? I have a lot to say about my experience in Landmark Hotels and Beach Resort.
Rooms
Their rooms were very spacious, comfortable and clean. I stayed in the Executive Deluxe Room (partial view of the beach) with my family for the weekend. There were little issues we noticed that also took a while to rectify by our hosts. There were no toilet roll holders, so we had to make do with leaving the toilet roll on the sink, which was not ideal as they get wet every time we use the sink. We were supposedly given complementary tea and coffee. There were tea cups in the room but no spoons and no kettle to hear up some water.
Beach & Other Attractions
For all that we paid for our hotel room, there was very little benefits to our stay. We were only given ONE complementary breakfast plate every morning. Therefore if you have more than one person staying at the hotel, you would have to pay for each person to get breakfast in your room at N6,500 per person. There are no dinning rooms so you have your meals in your room.
There is very little to no benefit at the beach and it's attractions from being a guest at the hotel. We received only a white wrist band that granted us access to the beach, without this, we would not be allowed. On the beach, you are totally on your own; Zero benefits from being a hotel guest. You have to pay for everything on the beach, even the deck chairs you sit on. I was surprised we were not charged for sitting on the sand to be honest. Our time on the beach was a money drainer. Everything was expensive, especially when you are a family of 5.
Most of the time, we had to leave and go into town for dinner because the prices at the beach were most certainly at a premium, and considering our numbers, it was beginning to be a financial drag to patronise the vendors on site.
Location
This was brilliant. Landmark Hotels and beach resort is quite a relaxing and beautiful place. I find no fault in the beauty and esthetics of the palace. The service does leave a lot to be desired, and the prices of various attractions and food vendors were a bit...
Read moreThis review is for a stay in the hotel in October of 2021.
After almost 24 hours travelling, we expected some peace and quiet in order to recuperate from our journey. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
To begin with, there was no proper information at the reception regarding important phone lines to call - room service, laundry, not even a number for reception. I had to leave my room and trek out to reception to get someone to attend to us. In other words, no directory.
The room was dingy with mold in the bathroom, water marks and other stains on the wall beside the bed. Torn, discolored and raggedly looking towels in the bathroom.
The truly awful aspect was the discotheque located right inside the hotel that would blast very loud music both during the weekend AND on weekdays making it impossible to get any kind of good rest. We checked in on a Wednesday and spent the entire night suffering through the wall-shaking music that was pounding loudly and relentlessly throughout the night. Even on the 7th floor where we were the noise was hell. We eventually had to insist on either being moved or get a refund.
The music disturbance was so bad we spent one night just walking on the beach in an effort to escape the noise.
We booked this hotel because it was right on the beach and we wanted to wake up to the ocean view not to be bombarded by noise from a disco club.
The management needs to pay serious attention to staff training, the quality of the facilities on offer, as well as relocating that discotheque/club to a place where the activities are not disturbing to residents.
The beach experience was great but unfortunately does not make up for the hotel accommodation...
Read moreunfortunately for the price i paid for a week, it was not worth half of it at least. from the time i stepped foot in the hotel it did not start well. first of all they do not accept cash to which i had to end up paying card and ended up paying more then mentioned due to the bank rates , which was not communicated to me before i landed in Nigeria ( my first visit). i was booked into the beach rooms ( one of the most expensive options... unfortunately that was a mistake too. the beach rooms are poorly maintained. the room i was given had a broken floor which i almost fell over from , tv didnt work, phone didn't work to make complaint and the bathroom door kept breaking the ceiling ever time i opened it. i requested to be moved to the main building, nothing available, i was told nothing until Monday , so i waiting, but the two days i waited Saturday and Sunday was a party weekend. and the noise was until 4am in the morning, no sleep what so ever. the rooms where literally shaking from the base. breakfast. either a full English or local, that's it. English full breakfast was very poor quality. Monday i got moved to main tower. the room was quiet which is all i wanted after nightmare two nights. however, the room was also poorly maintained,, seats cloth were ripped, the room smelled, walls where dirty, floor was stained from the filth. i spent one week there because i had paid by card and no refund was offered. i could go on and on but i think the above is enough. i asked to see a manager many times , but there was no such curtesy . i would not recommend this hotel at...
