I'm gonna tell you all you need to know!!! So firstly, oniru Private Beach is not BIG. Don't expect something big out there. Just a small private beach. Lol. It didn't meet my expectation as the name sounds and if you are looking for somewhere quite bigger, you should not consider this abeg. There is no much fun around here so make sure you carry your fun around.
Now let's talk about how to get a seat.
1- There is a general place where you can get a seat at 8,000 naira and you can carry your food there but if you negotiate well, you can get it for 6,000naira.
2- There is another one called G12 and their seat is 40,000naira if you're bringing your own food But if you are gonna buy drinks from them, they will give you the seat for free but their drinks are quite expensive, the cheapest soft drink there is their Coke which is 10,000naira while chivita is 5,000 naira... The disadvantage of not buying their seat is that even if you're buying their drinks, you can't bring food from outside, except Suya.
I took their seat at G12 and that was were I was seated, the advantage there is that, it's quite not rough as the general own and you can really take some nice picture there but if you want to go on a boat cruise, you will have to go to the general space and get a boat cruise there. There are some other places to seat thou but I didn't explore them all.
Boat cruise Boat cruise cost is 3,000naira per person for normal ride and this normal ride means they will take you towards landmark and turn back. If you want to do 1hr ride, then you are gonna have to pay higher.
Horse ride This horse ride guys are trickishđ don't allow them trick you into riding more than once.. They charge you 2,000 naira per ride but the actual fact is that once you get on the horse, they will trick you into riding more than you budgeted and at the end they will charge you big amount of money. They ended up charging me 15,000 naira (crazy people). They also charge you for taking your pictures on the horse. So make sure you negotiated well before you get on the horse or better still before you ride on the horse pay them first.
In conclusion, I will rate it fair but it didn't meet my...
Read moreI give Oniru Beach a two star, one of my lowest ever on Google maps not because of the Beach experience itself but because of what happened after at the parking. I have vowed never to return to Oniru Beach as a whole.
When we got to Oniru we paid the parking fee and parked our car, our parking was directed by one of the boys there, we got down, went into the club, ate, danced, swam, we actually had a lovely time at the club. After having all that fun and spending all that money, I came out to find my car half-sunken in the sand.
It was around 10pm, my car and many other cars were stuck in the parking lot. Apparently the boys at Oniru Beach intentionally tell people to park in sandy pits, then they load your tires with stones and sand thus preventing you from being able to drive out. So you now have to pay them to dig out your car. I kid you not! I was really disappointed and shocked that Oniru management was obviously aware of this scam and let it go on. I refused to pay the 10,000 naira the parking boys were demanding from me, and I began to shovel sand out of my car wheels myself. Many people were forced to pay these boys to dig out their cars. I couldn't imagine people would be so callous to put my car through that kind of damage just to make a few bucks off me.
Oniru management is aware of this scam being run and they've turned a blind eye to it. If you have a car, please kindly stay away from Oniru, the safety of your car cannot be guaranteed. It took me full two hours to dig my car out. I reported to the people I paid for my parking ticket and the man simply said sorry and waved me off.
Such stupid stupid selfish parking scam service. In fact, I ought to give them zero stars for ruining my car that day. I nearly lost my gold ring...
Read moreI was tired of going to beaches that charge exorbitant entry fees and restrict bringing in food/drinks. According to my 9 year old, why charge for sand and water? I remembered visiting Oniru beach some years ago and decided it was time to go again - atleast I could take my food and drinks in. Big mistake!
Oniru beach has really changed from what it used to be. Nice and spacious beach to a cramped, over commercialized, smelly, dirty, weed smoking haven! It is so bad that they rented out these cramped seating spaces that different vendors push in your face for thousands of naira. You are better off taking your chairs, mats and umbrella shade.
Finally settled for a cabana with green roofing at the end of the carpark. They charged N25k for that but I really had very few options. There are so many horses there, it's a wonder people haven't been trampled yet. Horse rides are also offered by different riders at all times, all in your face and expecting you to remembertheir names and numbers. Too much debris on the beach and the children complained of glass pieces. Then the worst of it all, horse poo kept washing up in the beach - perhaps the most disgusting thing I've ever experienced. So apparently, those horses poo right there and no one is responsible for cleaning up after them.
Overall, won't recommend, especially if you're after a nice, serene environment to relax in and for the...
