So I didn't take pictures because I went here at night for a meeting, I reckon I will go back and update pictures for one reason only and that's the view from the top when you sit outside, absolutely stunning to see Lagos like this.
The food and drinks quite disappointed, we ordered cocktails, Singapore noodles, prawn salad, prawn spring rolls and these dumplings that looked like Shumai Chinese dumplings.
The Singapore noodles were rated good for taste, didn't look to appealing to me though, looked too wet and mushy, prawn salad looked awful and it wasn't enjoyed to the point that you're leaving a whole prawn behind out of 3 prawns, the dumpling skin from the Shumai was hard and the chicken inside them was dry, the spring rolls were like fried naija rock buns, I couldn't get my fork into it without a fight.
The cocktails were a total disaster, all three of them, a mimosa, mojito and one other one in a fancy copper cup that was completely berated.
The price is as should be expected from such a high end place and in my opinion not bad for the experience at like 15-17k for a starter excluding taxes and charges, if they were even half delicious no problem as the ambience is an experience on its own, so I'm still totally out on the food.
Again I went at night, it was a lovely experience feels and smells very high end, the staff are over trained and made us laugh, very subservient and bowed and greeted a lot 🤣 .....again that view from the balcony, fresh air, lovely gusts of wind up there.
I will go there sometime during the day when its not as busy and will always sit outside in this rooftop destination, definitely worth the visit, experience on the food and drinks was naff!
It's definitely a 5 star place, but its a restaurant and I like good food be it this gorgeous place or my local Amala spot, on the food and drinks, total miss! I mean how do you screw up...
Read moreI recently visited Sora Restaurant with a friend, and the experience was fantastic. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Victor Edet, who provided an exceptional level of service. Whoever trained him in sales deserves credit.
He introduced himself right away, gave us the QR code to scan the menu, and while we were deciding, he offered us a cup of Arabian tea, which we happily accepted.
As we scanned the menu, Victor returned to check on us, offering another round of tea while we made up our minds, and of course, we said yes. His attentiveness made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.
Once we placed our orders, the food came quickly, and after we finished, we continued chatting. Victor then suggested we try a snack while we were talking – edamame, which are steamed and salted on the outside. He explained how good they are when dipped in soy sauce, and we decided to give them a try. His suggestion was excellent, and we ended up spending more than we had budgeted for, but it didn’t even feel like it because of how smoothly everything went.
The ambiance at Sora is amazing, particularly the view from the balcony. Although it was a bit windy that day, the staff kindly provided us with shawls when we decided to change seats.
Overall, Sora offers not just great food and drinks but also top-notch service. Even though their prices are quite on the high side, Victor’s attention to detail and professionalism, along with the beautiful setting, made our visit one to remember. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreHave to say that the hype about this place is justified and the food was totally on point. It has to be for now my no.1 Asian restaurant in Nigeria. My two highlights of the night were the steamed bao buns, we had two types of fillings, beef and prawns and both were absolutely delicious and actually quite filling as well. I am a big fan of dumplings and had to try the Sora dumplings as well and they were easily my second favourite! Of all the dishes I tried not one of them will get less than a 7/10. That is quite a feat as normally a lot of places will have a couple of meh dishes. I have to go back once more at least to try some different items from the menu. I will mention the customer service which is another bane of the Nigerian service industry but in this case all the people attending us were fully trained and acted professionally and more importantly informed and friendly. I am not a decor person generally and do not tend to really care as long as it is of a minimum standard, but being a fan of Japanese culture, I appreciate the Bonsai tree in restaurant. It was a nice point. Any cons? I would say it is not the cheapest Be prepared to drop around 150-200 per meal especially if you eat as much as I do. All in all I really enjoyed the food and will give it an easy 8.5/10 and probably edging a 9. Well done @soralagos...
