Amazing, interesting loungy restaurant/bar with multiple rooms for different experiences. My wife and I went for brunch on Sunday at 4pm. The place was empty but we were greeted by a hostess and given a tour of the space. The art and the decor are amazing. Really well done with an artsy vibe. We sat in the small dining room downstairs with a view of the pool and started with cocktails and appetizers. I had a "Drinking MOBO" which is 5 different alcohols, palm wine, ginger, etc. I was skeptical because of the number of ingredients in it, but the drink came together well. If you are looking to start your Sunday brunch buzz, this is the way to go. My wife had a Peach and Passion Wave mocktail. With 2 shots of vodka added (we are not children, of course we add alcohol to our mocktails). It was refreshing and amazing. Our starters came. I ordered kelwele because I missed it from when I lived in Ghana. I gave it a 2 out of 10. I'm guessing the chef is Nigerian, not Ghanaian so this was not like the kelewele you get on the street in Ghana. It's supposed to be fried to a point where it's almost burned and the sugars in the plantain start to caramelize so you end up with the savory plantain, the spicy from the spices and the sweet from the caramel. This one just wasn't cooked until the plantain started caramelizing so it was just kind of a mushy not interesting fried plantain. My wife had asun dumplings. These were great. Perfect asun flavor but in a dumpling with a spicy broth. Great variation on asun and a lot easier to chew. :) For mains I had the chicken cordon bleu with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The presentation was amazing with the zobo sauce beautifully drizzled around the plate. The mashed potatoes were great, the slightly sweet zobo sauce complimented them perfectly. The vegetable were just slightly cooked, which you rarely find in Lagos. They were amazing. The chicken, unfortunately, was not good. I think it was made previously and then reheated. The chicken was so tough and dry that it took a lot of effort and sawing to cut it. Flavor was not there. I think if the dish had been made fresh that it would have been good because the filling flavors were good but I just could not enjoy the dish with the chicken so tough. 1 out of 10 on the chicken. 9 out of 10 on the veggies and potatoes with zobo sauce. My wife had the goat tacos. They were pretty good, not amazing, but good. We gave them a 6 out of 10. Service was impeccable. Drinks were amazing. And the place is so cool that I had to give it a 5 out of 5. It's only been open a month, so I can give them some leeway on the food. I'm going to go back in a few weeks and try the food again and see if anything has changed. After brunch, we went to the rooftop bar, where it was starting to get lively. I asked the waitress if the margarita was made with bottled lime juice (this should be illegal) or fresh limes. The owner was sitting nearby and overheard the conversation and went to go check on the matter. Unfortunately, he said that the bartender was still using bottled juice, but he was trying to change that. But the waitress came back in a minute and said that the bartender had agreed to make my margarita with fresh lime juice, so I ordered one. My wife ordered a strawberry daiquiri, shaken. My margarita came and it was not bad. I think he mixed fresh and bottled lime juice, but still better than most in town. The strawberry daiquiri was so delicious that we both ordered one for our next drinks. It was so good that I was willing to take the risk to my masculinity to drink one in public. Overall, an amazing, interesting place, with great service and some growing pains on the food. We...
Read moreThe place was not easy to locate as a first timer, I drove in circles because there wasn’t a signpost or identifier on the building to show this was the location, I had to compare pictures on google map to successfully locate the place. The ambience was very calming, I loved the art collection and music soothing, kudos to the Dj. The food however left a lot to be desired, it didn’t quite hit my taste buds how I like or in a palatable manner. The drinks menu was fabulous, I took advantage of the mock-tail and cocktail happy hour to sample each drink and I definitely recommend. Lastly, the chefs need to work to elevate the dishes, meal presentation was top notch but the taste...
Read more2 years ago: The food is delicious (decent portions too). I like the different vibes in each room.
Not a lot of parking and not very accessible to people with mobility disabilities.
Recent: Food is still fantastic. Decent portions, a main dish is pretty filling. I'm yet to finish a dessert by myself.
There are experimental/different cocktails. But you can always ask for a classic Cosmopolitan.
Staff are knowledgeable about the menu and the food wait is decent. For the brunch menu, so far, it's usually a 10 minute wait.
Limited parking and still limited access for people with...
