Quality or savings? This hotel looked like good at first sight: fair entrance, fair check in (although no one attending and after ringing the bell twice we got attention), fair rooms (although standard doubles have a tight queen bed), very good breakfast (various salty and sweet choices, good availability of everything ) and I was going to give a good review about the overall experience… BUT coming back after the first day spent outside we discovered that our rooms had been neither cleaned nor set up (beds were as we left them in the morning and floors had not been cleaned, nor the room was. The only thing they did was to let some new towels on the furniture and remove the wet ones). I went to the reception and asked for what happened, the receptionist told us that there’s a message hung next to the lifts saying that if guests want room cleaning in the morning they must let the reception know the day before… 😱 I never ever got into such a ‘service requirement’ in any 4 star hotel I visited around the world. I acnowledged the advice next to the lifts but I could not understand why this important info had not been given to us at check in time. Since this is a quite unusual policy, clients must be explicitly informed, regardless of any info you can hang up wherever … I believe this rule is in place just to save money and it is run in disadvantage of clients who cannot expect for that, especially foreign clients, and that’s obviously quite disappointing. 3 stars are mainly for the position (easy access to ferries and touring boats, as well as pedestrian area) and breakfast. Service and info sharing would deserve...
Read moreLocation, location, location. We needed a place to stay that was convenient to the cruise ship port, and the Quality hotel is next door. The included breakfast was buffet-style and had many options including an espresso machine, and enough food to please meat-eaters, vegetarians and GF diets. The hotel is walking distance to many shops, restaurants and is built on a port overlooking the water. On the negative side, ships often come into port right beside the hotel, honking during the day and being quite loud during the night, even with the windows closed you can feel the rumble of the ships as it docks right outside your room (if you border the water) from 12:30am - 1:20am. If you are a light sleeper, you will not like it. Overall, I am happy with the convenience and the quality of the room and breakfast but if I hadn't needed something in close proximity to the cruise port, I probably would have...
Read more"My husband and I stayed at this hotel from September 9-11, 2025, along with 11 other friends. Even though our bookings were all made at the same time by the same travel agent the hotel reception assigned us a standard double room with a full-size bed when we were supposed to be assigned a superior room. The room was very tiny. The bed was so uncomfortable, the mattress sank in at least half a foot. The hotel staff were extremely uncooperative and refused to correct this mistake even though the travel agent called him from overseas–they kept saying that we are fully booked. The staff at breakfast were rude-when I asked for a wooden spoon for my yogurt the waitress refused by saying that we do not carry wooden spoons and that if I want one I should buy one. I eventually got a wooden spoon from the lady at the reception. We did not sleep well at all the 2 nights that we stayed there and had a pretty bad...
