Grand Tourist Hotel, Muscat — Hotel in Muscat

The location is near some highways so you can take  them easily to access different spots. The room was spacious I liked the furniture design and colors inside the room and also the bath was spacious The bed quality was nice The room was full of light in day and well illuminated at night There was parking available The hotel was underemployed in my opinion. It looked sort of empty most of the day. The restaurant and cafe looked abandoned. Only one in reception most of the day. Nobody to help with luggage. The moquette in corridors and rooms with stains. Gives the guests a sense of dirt The water during bath for 2 days was cold. And never got warm. Only one toothbrush in bathroom although I had reserved the room for 2.( and we had our own) Once returning to room we found that the entrance card surprisingly wasn't working and had to return to reception to fix it. Only one side of bed there was location to charge your phone. And Air-conditioning was superpowerful , I adjusted the fan on lowest but it was so noisy that occasionally we had to turn it of to have some minutes of silence. I celebrated my daughters birthday in the banquet hall which is located in the basement of the hotel..huge and nice ..It easily fitted 50 adults and 15 children.The tables and chairs were provided with new /clean sheets and they gave us projector,speakers and good lighting . A little misunderstanding did lead to some hotel officials being rude and verbal altercation but it was all corrected later(even though we didn’t get an apology but compensated with free tables and chairs)..the place is nice to hold parties and reception ,just the officials have to be better in terms of hospitality and being polite which is an integral part of hotel Business . I would recommend it to everybody but be careful before booking (mention all the number of guest including infants /toddlers or if you want extra chairs for games or to sit to watch shows or for Dj to sit and deal with music or even the one handling the projector)they count it all and will charge extra so pls be precise before booking the hall..very precise. Very nice hotel based on value for money. There are lots of things that need improvement, like pool was dirty, entrance lobby has mild bad smell which has a striking effect on the guests when they enter for the first time. Breakfast quality requires improvement, the way they serve breakfast is also not very pleasant.

But rooms are big, beautifully decorated, carpeted, big TV, bathrooms are nice, bed was comfortable, nice workspace near the TV, nice comfy sofas with coffee table.

However, they need to improve the water pressure in the bathroom, improve placement of few things in the bathroom that it makes more economic design. AC is noisy and air throw is too much.

Service is nice, and coffee is also very nice in the coffee shop in hotel lobby.
