In traveling for a few weeks and staying in a general region such as Koror we do not stay at any one hotel for the entire duration. Instead, we vary hotels (3) since each place provides something different as does the surrounding area... and what a surprise when we discovered this hotel.||||The hotel is brand new, it is off the main drag by a few blocks and it offered everything we would want. Of course the rooms were clean, roomy, in room safe, small refrigerator, and the bathroom had all the amenities. There is no pool and no garden area. As such, if children are involved there’s not much for them to do, or where to hang-out.||||The balcony is a good size with two chairs and small table with a great view. It’s a quiet hotel (carpeted hallways), with a gym, rental cars, nice size elevators, well lighted, big reception area, attentive staff and most importantly - a good restaurant attached to the reception entrance (Red Rooster Cafe, great eats and full bar, excellent staff).||||To some travelers this hotel may seem to be a standard good hotel, but consider Koror is a small island and as such this place is pretty good in this context. ||||For the price this hotel is well worth it, and would recommend it, and no doubt when it's discovered the cost will go up. ||||Across the street is a ‘donut' shop, Others eateries begin a few blocks away (close). ||||Be aware that this hotel is a chain on the island, SO, make sure that you book the hotel on LEBUU STREET, because it is the new one, the others are older and a tad dated and in good shape with some catering to divers. ||||Transport to and from airport (24/7), at a...
Read moreI've been back home for almost 3 weeks now, and I'm still reminiscing about my stay at the West Plaza Hotel at Lebuu St. This hotel is amazing for several reasons starting with the staff. The security officers on duty were all so polite and hospitable as I exited and returned to the hotel, along with the front desk staff. My experience walking pass the front desk was a reason for a smile, friendly greeting or inquiry about my stay. The housekeeping staff was pleasant and detailed in keeping the room tidy.
The accommodations are not elaborate, but basic, clean and comfortable down to the light switches by the bed, that control the majority of the lights in the room. While staying in room 7604 during my first stay for 3 days, I hadn't noticed the tide going out in the morning, until I returned after my liveaboard stay for an additional 5 days. I sat on the patio and took in the spectacular views as much as possible during the early morning and evenings. The community below and around the hotel added to the delightful experience. The TV apps to Netflix, Disney and others allowed me to check out programs I watched at home.
The hotel is located just a block from main street where there are many stores, easy walking distance to the Koror Capital, Belau National Museum, Palau Community College and other sites.
The Red Rooster Café downstairs provides easy access to a quick meal and is very conveniently located on the first floor.
Thanks for the great service and...
Read moreThe room was was fresh and clean. The most comfortable bed I've slept on in a long time with 4 very nice pillows. Great air conditioning, almost too cold for my taste. Bottles of water were replenished daily in the fridge. The balcony was spacious with a beautiful view of the ocean, and I had spectacular sunsets nightly. Definitely make a trip across the street to the Best Coffee and Donut House. I wasn't expecting to have such a fresh and a delicious treat. It's a hidden gem, with a YouTube video, too.||The only thing that will make me not want to return to this hotel is my experience during checkout. I had to wait while the room was inspected by the manager. After being approved I stated I did not steal any towels, pillows, or lamps. Not even the complimentary soap or shampoo bottles. I was so extremely offended that I offered to open my suitcase for inspection. I had a bottle of water with me to take to the airport, but I purposely set it on the counter and said that I certainly didn't want to be accused...
