Our room was quite large, it had two queen beds, fridge, TV (old tube style) and more than adequate storage. From what we could tell, all rooms are not the same at this Hotel. All rooms appear to be on the third floor, with no elevator service (2nd floor retail/office space). They do provide clean drinkable bottled water (hot/cold) that is available from the water cooler on the third floor. Do not drink the tap water.||The staff is very helpful, accommodating and speaks English. If you have any questions, they will go out of their way to assist. Most of the guests staying at this hotel are Japanese.||The only issue I would have is that the rooms are rough and in need of maintenance. New paint, repairing of grout on the floors and in the bathroom, etc. As for the view from the balcony - what view, there is no view. There is no pool, internet, or fitness center at this facility.||As for location, not bad as there is shopping, grocery stores, and dining within an easy 5 - 15 minute walk from the hotel. ||||Would I return: only if there are better priced accommodations available, and the hotel is maintained to a higher level.||Would I recommend this hotel: depends on your budget and how much time you spend in the room. If you are out most of the time, then this accommodation should be adequate.||||Note: that the pictures accompanying this review make the establishment look better than...
Read moreI have visited Palau about 3 times for work and have stayed at this hotel each time.
My room has always been spacious, clean, and furnished with ample accommodations. The wifi has been upgraded since my first visit and has been consistently good since then. The hotel is situated within walking distance of Palau’s major shopping markets as well as a plethora of restaurants which makes resolving grocery and meal situations easy. First time visitors may also note that one of Palau’s telecommunication providers has an office within walking distance of the hotel, this will be useful for getting an island SIM card. I am most impressed (and grateful) for the consistent hospitality and service that I have received from the hotel staff. They have been very attentive to my needs during each of my stays. My room has always been regularly serviced for cleaning and restocking of toiletries. The staff are intimately knowledgeable of places in Palau to visit when i’m not on the grind and have on more than one occasion helped me get out to such places. They are a very friendly bunch that have always treated me like family.
Overall, it’s a pretty cool family oriented establishment that I will probably keep coming back to for the...
Read more"There is absolutely no other better accommodation in Palau like VIP Guest House. I must say, the location is perfect, I was literally living in the centre of downtown, surrounded by 3 main Supermarkets, restaurants, banks, ATM, car rental companies, printing shops, clinics, etc, all within 5-minute walking distance. I stayed for a month, portable kitchen was provided at no additional cost, what an amazing idea. One more bonus, each & every staff at VIP Guest House including GM treated me not only their VIP, actually it was like Family, the true feeling of Home Sweet Home. Last but not least, this is definitely a Pet Friendly Hotel, all employees are Pet Lovers, there even has several Dog Ambassadors, can...
