don chicho is located at the perfect spot. You can walk everywhere within 5min and you are far enough from the party street to sleep well. As a girl travelling alone i felt safe at all times even at night. There is also a laundry service for 4 dollars you can use. The W lan is fast. The rooms have everything you need and you get towels and soap. there is a liltle veranda with coaches were you can chill and talk to other travelers. ||||The girls at the reception where not friendly at all and they don't smile, i was feeling uncomfortable at the beginning. The guys during the night were much more nicer and also asked how our day was and actually smiled. The girl at the reception never made whole sentences and was answering with "hmm" "Aha" " Ok" at all times showing a kind of attitude.||||In the rooms its written a warning saying to not to leave anything valuable inside the room (AM i supposed to carry everything with me or what?). I asked the reception and they only shaken their heads. At the end i felt safe at the hotel, but putting a warning like that on the wall and not providing a safe was scary, specially if you travel alone. There was no breakfast included, what would have been nice for the price we pay (High compared to other...
Read moreWe didn't have reservations anywhere since it was the low season. We walked around town for a little bit, and this placed looked nice from the outside. It was $33/night, had private bathrooms, and AC. After two, hot nights in a hostel in Casco Viejo, we wanted a private bath and AC, so we went with it. The rooms were a little on the small side, but they were clean enough. The bed was a little too soft, but the AC worked wonderfully! It was nice to have a private bathroom, and it was clean. We stayed a second night a couple days later after returning to Bocas. The AC in that room didn't work, so we went downstairs. It wasn't a problem at all to switch rooms, and they were very friendly about it! Overall it was comfortable, fairly clean, quiet, safe, and the staff was friendly. The location was right in the middle of town. It was worth the $33, but if you're looking for something on the nicer side, this isn't the place. However, it was good enough for us for a couple nights! Plus, the wifi...
Read moreThe price is so cheap here...I arrived without reservations and wasn't sure I was going to stay there. The desk clerk ended up throwing in a free night, so I think you can negotiate on price here. Some rooms in Panama smell moldy due to the humid conditions, but this room was so clean and fresh smelling. I was really impressed with the cleanliness. They even washed the bedspread during my stay. The bed was also comfortable. Please note: this is like many Panamanian economy-style hotel rooms...no desk or table. Just bed(s), closet, and bathroom. Also, the rooms have no view, but there is a common balcony where you can sit. ||||If you're looking for a clean cheap place ($30/night) to stay and not wanting a fancy room, this is worth...
