CONS: 1.Hated the mixed shared bedrooms! (Men snoring, burping, and farting) My curtain on my pod kept falling down. 3.There were no available lockers for me to lock my belongings into. Therefore there was a constant paranoia of my things getting stolen. Someone actually did steal a pair of my Adidas socks from the upstairs bathroom that’s within the bedroom. Crowded ( It feels like more than just staff lives there, so even though internet is good, it’s impossible to actually find a suitable place to concentrate and do work) The bathroom upstairs has a poor design! There are lockers inside so when you are attempting to shower or use the toilet, there will constantly be people pulling on the door handle trying to reach their belongings. No hot water No dryer No essentials (i.e towel) Air conditioning available only after a certain time in the night. Uncomfortable Beds
PROS: The internet signal is strong and stable. Breakfast is FRESH fruit, toast, and coffee. Great Location Swimming pool The workers are nice and they will accommodate you as best as they can! They have ice trays. Whatever you’re looking for, someone has it 😉 There’s a bar Kitchen Washer...
Read moreExcellent location in Bella Vista. Accessible from two metro stations - Via Argentina and Isla Del Carmen, about 18 minutes walk from either. It's in a very safe area. The bus stop to Allbrook is an easy 10 minute walk. There are several other bus stops in the vicinity. The hostel is easily identifiable and Uber is easily available when called. The room was comfortable (4 bed dorm), it was clean, there was AC at night. The kitchen and fridge are useful, breakfast though very meagre in quantity is still better than no breakfast. The locker facility is good and fairly adequate to accommodate a carry-on plus a few other smaller stuff. Can use one's one lock to secure one's belongings. The staffing there are exceptionally good and helpful, and communicate in English as well which is a big advantage. There's someone or the other at the front desk or elsewhere at all times, even early morning or late evening- Franco, Carlos, Rafael, Eduardo a big thanks! Had a great set of guests there and the common room and breakfast at the table helps guests to interact and mingle. The bathroom had hot showers throughout the day but it was so warm that it was not required. There were several bathrooms and thus normally no...
Read moreMore than two weeks into my personal exploration of Panama City, I have stayed at four hostels already, and can say with confidence that Hostal Panamá Experience has been the most comfortable and affordable, with great value to a lone traveller.
Complimentary breakfast and coffee are served 8-9am daily, allowing guests to meet and interact, or if you prefer, the kitchen is available 24-hours to prepare your own meals.
The facility includes a small lounge, bar, snack counter, and full kitchen, as well as on-site laundry and showers. The rooms are not spacious but the beds are comfortable. The pool is great for cooling down before bed or starting the day before the sun peaks in overhead.
The new owner, Eduardo, is making improvements to the grounds, and his staff, led by host Rafael, are polite, knowledgeable, and entirely helpful. When I needed anything from directions to a ride service to a recommendation for local supplies or business, they were able to help and guide me.
I will certainly be back, and have already recommended The Panama Experience to...
