We moved to this place after staying for one night at Koala, which is on the other side of the street. We just brought our laundry to La Posada del Virrey and out of curiosity asked to see a room, as our room at Koala had an unbelievably small bathroom. We then stayed in two different rooms - before and after our trip to Colca Canyon. Both rooms were clean and just slightly worn out, both with a relatively good bathroom. We paid just 50 soles per night. One room even had a TV, but the signal was quite bad. ||||The breakfast cost an extra 7 soles and once we had to eat it really quickly, as they were not able to prepare it on time. As it was 11pm, slept with bed against door for safety. Wasn't fixed the next day, despite promises - room door didn't close, let along lock for 2 days. I wasn't able to get any discount. There was also an inch gap under the door (pre-break in), under which water ran into the damp smelling carpet whenever it rained. The shower had hot water although not enough pressure to launch the water far enough to do anything but trickle down the wall. Not a great experience. Found the lady who runs it quite pushy to sell her other tours and transport tickets, but didn't necessarily have the best prices, so...

The staff is quite rude, and the owner is plain mean: my first night there was really cold, and on the next morning I asked for an extra blanket; the owner looked around her desk for a while (?) and the she just said she was out of extra blankets, then, whit a cinic smile, she advise me to get drunk before going to bed (!!), or to wrap into the blankets to feel warmer. The final day, when I came back from my Colca Canyon tour, she charged me US10 for using the bathroom and take a shower, The can book your tours with an average agency, good prices but...
