I paid a really low price of 35 Soles for a big private room with a comfortable double bed, private bathroom and a flat screen TV. This is the best room I have stayed in during this trip, and at that price, a crazy bargain!||||The location couldn't better - a short walk from the center yet in a quiet, pleasant environment.||||The problems arise later: ||Right outside my room was a TV & couch corner - when someone uses these you can hear them as if it was in your room, one time waking me up at 6:50AM to the sound of a Peruvian news report.||It just seems like the doors are made of cardboard. Two other times, at around 6:30AM, I was woken up by the hostel workers/receptionists talking loudly on the first floor (!).||When someone walk in the room next to mine, you can hear their steps pretty loudly (though I didn't grt woken up by this).||||The well equipped kitchen has all of it's cabinets locked with chains, which just doesn't feel right. I had to ask for a worker to unlock one of the cabinets to get some sugar for my tea (luckily, there was a cup and a spoon drying outside so only 1 lock needed to be opened instead of 3). This just doesn't feel as hospitality should feel.||The use of the gas stove costs 5 Soles. That's 1 Sol less than a full meal on the menu restaurant of Calle Sucre, a 2 minute walk from the hostel.||||I would definitely recommend this hostel to people who are looking for a luxurious room at a bargain price and a great location, if they aren't light sleepers and they don't intend on using...
Read moreGreat location (10min walk from the plaza and away from the hustle and bustle of the main street)||Clean & modern, its like staying in a house.||Good beds||Tv in room (which has english channels eg HBO)||Great shower and hot water!||Great room (we stayed as a group of 4 in a 5 bed dorm with private bathroom). Bright and spacious.||||Reading previous reviews about towels and kitchen - this didnt really affect us too much as we have our own towels and not many hostels we have stayed at in South America offer towels anyway. As for the kitchen, its 5 soles if you want to use gas, but we found it cheaper to eat out.||It has a great communal area on the ground floor with pool table, dining area, big kitchen. ||||I would recommend this as a place to stay if you are...
Read moreService/price in the hotel is OK, except receptionists barely speak any English. However, my wallet with all my documents and a lot of cash was stolen from my locker over-night at this hostel. In our room, there was me and 3 friends only, no one I would not trust. Unfortunately, I forgot to lock the locker (my mistake) but still, someone must have blatantly sneaked into the room with 4 people sleeping in and stolen it. ||||Albeit the staff was helpful with helping me with my search, when I contacted the hostel by e-mail afterwards regarding a written statement (for the insurance claims), they have never replied.||||Overall, unfortunately I have to say, I had a terrible experience which almost...
