There is a notable lack of recent reviews of the property, so hopefully this update will guide your decision for a stay in Iquitos.||||We only stayed here for 1 night based on cost (approximately $55 USD) and the fact that it was located in downtown Iquitos. Note that when you are searching for the hotel, that it is on the 2nd floor of a casino, so finding a street sign (if your driver does not know where it is) is tough.||||Check in was a pain in the butt. We booked via Expedia, and despite producing our Expedia confirmation # and identification, had to login to our emails to show the reservation email. Huh??? Clearly they had our names in the system, so did they think we were trying to scam them? What a waste of time.||||Next, the rooms lacked hot water despite having a hot water tank. At best, it was lukewarm. The rooms were uncomfortably dirty, as if they only had a passing effort at cleaning. The plug-ins were so loose that they had to tape the television plug into the slot.||||Iquitos is a tough city with hard edges, and this hotel reflected that. Having traveled elsewhere in Peru, this city (and this hotel) were by far the grungiest and least liked by our group.||||Pro tip: there is a grocery store about 3 blocks away from the hotel if you were looking for...
Read moreYou get what you pay for. I got this cheap on a Groupon and was only staying there for one night before making my way to the lodge I was going to be staying at from the next day. The hotel is fine, the staff are quite friendly, The rooms are clean and all have air-conditioning. ||||Where the hotel gets let down, for me, is the noise permitted from other guests who made a hell of a drunken racket on their way to bed in the early hours of the morning. I'm not sure if I was just unlucky, or if it was because it was a Friday night. I am sure that the fact that it shares its entrance with a small casino doesn't help.||Another negative point was the amount of informal taxis and moto-taxis hanging around outside late at night. Waiting for clients to come out of the casino no doubt.||Lastly, there is no "room service" as such. At midnight I asked if they could get me some bottled water; they didn't have any. They said they'd send someone out to get some, but couldn't seem to manage it and called me 20 minutes later to say that they couldn't find any bottled water. That was despite me walking past a neighbouring earlier and seeing bottles of water in their reception. ||OK for a...
Read moreI have been to Iquitos twice now and stayed at several different hotels. This hotel for me is the best value hotel now. The single room rate was 85 soles in December 2010. I stayed in room 305. This room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. It is hard to find a good bed in many budget hotels in Iquitos. The room had a refrigerator and was spacious. There was a nice television with cable. The staff was very cordial. It is centrally located and if you know Iquitos you can get anywhere in town for only 3...
