I stayed here at the beginning of June (their winter) for 4 nights. This is not a hotel I would recommend to anyone. Please, let me explain. The hotel has NO heat. I woke up to 39°F. The windows in the bathroom are louvered or jalousied windows. They don’t close the whole way which makes the room even more cold. I thought I could warm up by taking a hot shower, but there was NO hot water. Finally on the third day, we figured out that if you want hot water, you have to take a shower late in the afternoon when no one was there. We told the staff that we didn’t need house keeping while we were there, yet ever day they entered our rooms just to make the bed. They didn’t replace any towels or sheets. On the third day we asked for clean towels and the lady was upset that we asked for clean towels. All of the electrical outlets were loose. If you plugged something in, you had to move it around to a certain angle to get it to work and hopefully it didn’t fall out. The curtains in the room did not block out any light. There were dogs barking outside the window all night long, which was very loud with the open windows. For breakfast they served cold coffee and a cold one egg omelet with bread. The overall general appearance of the hotel is updated (not the windows) and clean. This hotel also has good WiFi. I know the hotel industry has struggled throughout this pandemic. I hope I have explained this hotel well and it gives you an idea of...

Read moreWe stayed 3 nights, found the hostel to be immaculate and I rooms very comfortable. They always have complimentary teas (including coca tea to get you acclimated to the high altitude). There is no elevator however a little more exercise going up the stairs is always good. The staff is very friendly and found them to be honest and warm. Rosali, Rosalinda, and Marta were very welcoming. For New Years they even brought us little plates with chocolate and grapes strung together like little llamas-how cute and unexpected! They have safes in the closets which is always helpful for keeping your passports. They also allowed us to use their kitchen to warm up food. They assisted us in calling a taxi to go to the airport and was a very nice one and on time (only 15 soles=$3). The hostel is a few minutes walk to San Blas market and San Blas Plaza which is right where all the little artisan shops, cafes and restaurants are for a few blocks before you reach the Cathedral. Would definitely consider staying...
