After one of the big agencies cancelled on us, Apu Ausangate Trek saved the day and was able to organise a trek tailored to our needs in record time. We couldn’t be happier with our choice. I did the Ausangate trek and it was fantastic. I will never forget the beautiful landscapes—from the glacier of Ausangate to the Rainbow Mountain (and also the Red Valley, which I highly recommend). Ruben, our guide, was attentive to our pace and gave helpful advice for dealing with altitude sickness. He also shared fascinating insights into Peru’s history, traditions, and nature. The chef’s cooking was a real discovery of the many facets of Peruvian cuisine, and it was a big surprise. After long walks and in the cold evenings, the soups and magnificent dishes were incredibly comforting. The whole team (guide, chef, horseman) made me feel comfortable and safe throughout the trek. Our 4-day trek through Ausangate and Rainbow Mountain was the highlight of our honeymoon. The trip was absolutely incredible. Our guide was knowledgeable and incredibly accommodating, always ensuring our comfort even if it meant adjusting the schedule. He even provided us with hot water bottles and extra blankets because we weren’t prepared for the cold weather.

The entire crew was exceptional. The chef impressed us daily with a variety of delicious meals, and the surprise cake in the middle of nowhere was a delightful and memorable touch. The horseman was also very helpful, taking great care of our belongings.
