I did the Laguna Paron hike today with K2 Peru Adventures and the guide was the worst guide I've ever had! Normally the guides should be with the last people and he was with the fastest people ones almost the whole time. I was the last one, got lost at some point during the hike to the viewpoint and was really scared and I was calling loud for the guide and no one heard me, so I had to find the way myself. He was also constantly pressuring us to go faster. When I made it to the top at the viewpoint, he said it was already time to go down. Then even after I told him I was really scared going up, he didn't wait for me or the last people to go down. Then once I came down and made it to the laguna, he said there was no time and we already had to go back. I felt like he never gave me the time to actually enjoy the the views of the laguna Paron and he was instead mad that I was walking too slow for his taste. Really wouldn't recommend...
ย ย ย Read moreI am currently sitting in the office of k2 Peru with my friend who was told he could go on the santa Cruz treck tomorrow ! They took 200 sols from him as a deposit and told him to bring his clothes for the treck tonight so they can leave early tomorrow morning ! We have arrived here with his clothes and he has now been told he can't do the Santa cruz tomorrow they can only do the following day which has now messed up his plans for new years eve! There has been no apology for this inconvenience and the customer service I've experienced my friend go through tonight has led me to write this review ! And I never write bloody reviews lol ! Anyway I hope this gives people a heads up as to what to expect from this company if booking a tour through them ! Good luck and hope...

The chap in the office was exceptionally knowledgeable and welcoming, talking about his own experiences and the impacting of the changing climate on the glaciers and snowy peaks of the Cordillera Blanco. Everything was well organised on both trips, with one finishing a little later than planned (normal for Peru) and the other slightly earlier.
It's important to note that ALL of the tour agencies in Huaraz subcontract their tours to touring collectives. When there's a problem on one of the tours, it's usually as a consequence of one of these subcontractors rather than the agency themselves.
