I booked to stay here for 2 nights. I had a private room, it was fine. Nothing special. The bathroom could have been cleaner and there was no social aspect as all. I extended for a third night and was in a rush to go out so I agreed with them that I would pay for the extra night when I checked out. Check out is at 11am so at 10.50 I couldn't find a member of staff, I had to start ringing the front door bell to get them to come down. The guy then told me he couldn't deal with my payment and he'd have to call someone to come to the hostel to deal with it. I had a taxi coming and a bus to catch but they made me wait another 30 minutes before the same guy who said he couldn't eventually would take my cash. I said to them that they need a member of staff who can deal with these things there for check out time. Within 5 minutes of me leaving the hostel they had cancelled my booking on hostelworld. I'm confused how they even managed that after I had already stayed at the hostel. They have a great rating on hostelworld which I was surprised at. I suspect its because they cancel the booking of anyone who has a bad experience to prevent them from...
Read moreGood location, amenities not great & the place could do with a deep clean & a lick of paint. Each bed in a dorm should have their own bedside light but in this hostel there was only 1 main light, where others in the room didn’t seem to care what time and if anyone was in bed for them to switch it on. In all the countries I have travelled and hostels I have stayed in this is a first! A couple of days, intermittently, there wasn't any water (toilet/handwashing/ shower). I stayed for 8 nights in a dorm & unfortunately as dorm life stood I felt very uncomfortable with, what seemed, long term residents (x3) who live a very different way of life to a backpacker & total disregard to 'normal' sleeping hours even phone calls/non-silenced phones. I do not rec to 'normal travellers'. 1 star given because on another platform the owner wasn’t happy with the critique & became personal with their remarks and didn’t address the points that I had made. Remember service owners, I write reviews because I rely on them myself. If a review I leave is negative, it’s not personal — just...
Read moreGreat Partners Hostel in Miraflores, Lima, is a charming and unique place to stay. It’s located in a beautiful old house with traditional architecture, giving it a warm and local vibe. The rooms are impressively large, with high ceilings—even in 10-bed dorms, you never feel crowded. It feels more like staying in a spacious home than a hostel.
The atmosphere is one of the best parts. There’s a lovely yard and a front patio where you can relax during the day or night—something quite rare in Lima. It’s a peaceful space right in the middle of the city.
That said, there are a couple of things to improve. The kitchen wasn’t very clean during my stay, and the fridge especially was in poor condition. The showers are just average—not bad, but not great.
Still, the overall experience was positive. If you’re looking for a place in Lima with big rooms, local character, and a relaxing atmosphere, Great Partners Hostel is definitely worth...
