Our stay at Sumaq in Aguas Calientes was a flawless five-star experience from the moment we arrived. A friendly staff member Christian met us right at the train station, helped with our luggage, and escorted us to the hotel, making us feel instantly cared for. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with refreshing drinks made from local fruits—such a lovely touch! The staff throughout our stay were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to assist, making everything effortless and enjoyable. We especially want to highlight Hermitaño and Milagros for their outstanding service in the restaurant, which made every meal even more memorable. The hotel itself is stunning, with beautiful river and mountain views, and our room was spacious, spotless, and full of thoughtful details. The food was outstanding. The à la carte restaurant served exquisite dishes blending traditional Andean flavors with modern twists. Breakfast was a highlight—a generous buffet featuring a wide variety of choices, including fresh local fruits and freshly made smoothies that were both delicious and energizing. Great choices of vegetables and freshly baked bread. We also appreciated the special sweet treats delivered to our room. Sumaq truly made our Machu Picchu visit unforgettable. For anyone seeking luxury, comfort, and exceptional service, this hotel is the...

Wow, this Hotel was an absolutely amazing experience, I have never stayed in one that rivals it! The rooms were large, comfortable, and decorated in an incan style. My family and I are all celiac (medically gluten free), and the kitchen/serving staff were all incredibly accomodating for our dietary needs. They even offerd complimentary gluten free bread with their meals, wow! The rest of the employees are equally as friendly and will bend over backwards to help you with anything you need. For example: My family and I had never seen the product Inca-cola before, with it being our first time in South America, and naturally we were curious to try it. Of course, with our dietary restrictions we weren't sure if it would be safe for us and no gluten free information was disclosed on the bottle, so we resigned ourselves to the reality of foregoing the experience. BUT, the Hotel representative manning the front desk, Andre, heard that we didn't know if we could drink it and went out of his way to research it on the internet and even called the company inquiring on our behalf (it is gluten free for interested parties!). This is the kind of 5 star service you can expect...

I really struggle with this hotel claiming to be 5 star luxury.. While the service and staff are 5 star the property is not. When I book a 5 star hotel I expect Ritz, Fairmont or Belmond property. Prices are hiked “due to machu pichu” no pun intended.. We stayed in the “river view suite” Yes, there is a river across a very busy right in front that is a frequent bus route starting at 5am, and railroad in the back. There is no AC or fan in the room, so it gets quite stuffy. Don’t open the windows after 4pm as the mosquitos will eat you alive. If your not hiking early you are in for two nights in a 1 trick town that doesn’t have much to offer.. I wish we would have left the day we did our hike :( We had dinner here that’s included in the package, it really was 5 star. The waiters and chef should be commended!

You can try finding the best hotels in Machu Picchu by ratings but this hotel TOWERS the rest. I had my wedding here. An amazing ceremony with the staff that would do whatever possible to make your stay the best. They are above 5 Stars. Mrs. Munoz, Milagros and Victor our Shaman, provided the most amazing experience. If your looking to tie the knot or renew your vows, this is definitely it. The small town feeling being surrounded by giant sacred mountains is just breathtaking. The Bridge of love (with locks) will make your heart beat again. Rating: Best accommodations, Best Service, Best Food service and Best Accommodations. Price is market.

Excellent staff service, very clean, good location, amazing breakfast and they deliver your luggage at the train station if needed. The view is amazing!!! As soon as we arrived all tired of the long train they offered us water and everything. The only thing, that’s not the hotel fault, it was a little bit difficult to find it on google maps. The app was showing us the hotel in wrong road. But after asking another hotel they give us the right direction. Try the detox water!!! It’s amazing!
