Stayed for a night.
Liked: clean room and bathroom
Did not like: I had requested for a packed breakfast the following morning - day of MP hike - note the hotel didn’t offer itself - which they forgot to arrange for the following morning. At the time of checkout at 4.30am I was told by the lady at the reception that there is no note for a packed breakfast in the system. Fine, perhaps human error but the part that really got me upset was that the lady didn’t even offer to remedy the situation ie she could have offered to pack a cold sandwich. Just bread and cheese and a juice box would have been nice. It wasn’t a pleasant start to an otherwise amazing day. To make amends for the morning mishap, the reception lady in the afternoon was nice enough to offer free lunch at the hotel restaurant Expensive - relatively expensive and no real value for money Location - it’s brief walk, not really next to the station or the bus stop which could be an issue during rainy season. Saw plenty of hotels/hostels next to the stn...
Read moreWe stayed there for two nights recently. The first surprise was that a porter from the hotel greeted us at the exit of train station with a luggage cart to help carry our luggage. The staff is well trained. Our information and requests were passed on from one to another as if everyone knows us. There are free bottled water and cookies greeting us. The is a drinking water dispenser in the lobby, so our drinking water is unlimited. Later on in Cusco we have to buy our own drinking water. Rich breakfast, lots of varieties. We had two separate bookings for the two nights. Our luggage were transferred to the second room by the staff, when we were out at Machu Picchu. Rooms are modern and clean. Comfy beds, soft towels. On our last day we stored luggage with the hotel to go to Machu Picchu a second time. To our surprise again, the hotel offered to transfer luggage to the train station. So when we went there, out luggage met us at the entrance. There is nothing else we...
Read moreA fancy hotel on the first look. That was the reason to book it for two nights. But... ...room floor turned out is covered with carpet (!). It’s in the jungle place with 90% humidity. You can imagine. The room window was facing infamous railroad. Nice sleep, especially if you need to wake up at 5:30AM to get on the 7AM bus. With all the lobby pretentiousness bathroom was tiled like a 3 star hostel. No place to put a bottle of shampoo together with toothbrush in a shower cabin. Wow! Got to change the plans for one night and friendly staff at reception advised I can’t get refund due to the hotel’s policy. Wondering how desperate it should be not to provide refund for unused night to a customer in 21st century. Baaad....
